Download or read book Introducci n a la interpretaci n de los sue os written by Javier Castillo Colomer and published by Editorial Manuscritos. This book was released on 2014-02-19 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book An introduction to dream interpretation

Download or read book An introduction to dream interpretation written by Javier Castillo Colomer and published by Editorial Manuscritos. This book was released on 2014-03-17 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The long personal and professional experience of Dr. Javier Castillo allows him to finally come to the conclusion, in line with the Jungian idea, that dreams are a phenomenon of nature and must be understood as what they are. The contents that come from the unconscious neither want to hide, distort or fool us, but speak in its own language, the language of images.(Dr. Theodor Abt) Another of the fundamental characteristics of this work is the description of the different interpretive frameworks that occur in the psychotherapeutic practice of dream analysis. The experience of Dr. Castillo in Freudian, Reichian and Jungian analysis allows the reader to have a deep insight into the various analytical maps, and he makes a clear, organized and systematic description of the different forms of interpretation, which will be helpful for anyone who wants to further deepen their knowledge of this subject. (Dr. Antonio Sanfeliu)

Book Indigenous and Popular Thinking in Am rica

Download or read book Indigenous and Popular Thinking in Am rica written by Rodolfo Kusch and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2010-04-07 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in Mexico in 1970, Indigenous and Popular Thinking in América is the first book by the Argentine philosopher Rodolfo Kusch (1922–79) to be translated into English. At its core is a binary created by colonization and the devaluation of indigenous practices and cosmologies: an opposition between the technologies and rationalities of European modernity and the popular mode of thinking, which is deeply tied to Indian ways of knowing and being. Arguing that this binary cuts through América, Kusch seeks to identify and recover the indigenous and popular way of thinking, which he contends is dismissed or misunderstood by many urban Argentines, including leftist intellectuals. Indigenous and Popular Thinking in América is a record of Kusch's attempt to immerse himself in the indigenous ways of knowing and being. At first glance, his methodology resembles ethnography. He speaks with and observes indigenous people and mestizos in Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. He questions them about their agricultural practices and economic decisions; he observes rituals; he asks women in the market the meaning of indigenous talismans; he interviews shamans; he describes the spatial arrangement and the contents of shrines, altars, and temples; and he reproduces diagrams of archaeological sites, which he then interprets at length. Yet he does not present a "them" to a putative "us." Instead, he offers an inroad to a way of thinking and being that does not follow the logic or fit into the categories of Western social science and philosophy. In his introduction, Walter D. Mignolo discusses Kusch's work and its relation to that of other twentieth-century intellectuals, Argentine history, and contemporary scholarship on the subaltern and decoloniality.

Book The Invention of Latin American Music

Download or read book The Invention of Latin American Music written by Pablo Palomino and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2020 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book reconstructs the transnational history of the category "Latin American music" during the first half of the 20th century, from a longer perspective that begins in the 19th century and extends the narrative until the present. It analyzes intellectual, commercial, state, musicological and diplomatic actors that created and elaborated this category. It shows music as a key field for the dissemination of a cultural idea of Latin America in the 1930s. It studies multiple music-related actors, such as intellectuals, musicologists, policy-makers, popular artists, radio operators, and diplomats in Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, the United States, and different parts of Europe. It proposes a regionalist approach to Latin American and global history, by showing individual nations as both agents and result of transnational forces-imperial, economic, and ideological. It argues that Latin America is the sedimentation of over two centuries of regionalist projects, and studies the place of music regionalism in that history"--
