Book excerpt: My intention is to share a technique I call mirroring, which Jesus taught me through A Course in Miracles. In 2008, I was guided to write down a process I call mirroring. I knew it was for me and no one else, but I hoped it would help others too. I really didn't think I'd have to turn back to the teachings Jesus gave me and climb back up that ladder to wholeness. Here I am though, feeling like I'm reborn starting a whole new life of issues to heal. The reason I tell you this story is because I'm not enlightened or some guru telling you how to reach God. I am Spirit having an experience as a human, and I found a way that worked for me once. It's not the only way to get you closer to Home, the Love that created us. It got me to a place I didn't think possible, a place of Grace, a place of certainty, no fear, no pain, and complete love for everything and everyone. Which is why I've authored this piece of work, by Grace.

Thank you, God, for leading me home. Have you ever felt lost? Do you long for a group of friends? Will you ever find your way home? In this remarkable book, the women of Magdalene ask questions that all of us ask, and they share their own joyous, painful, uplifting answers. Inspired by the classic Benedictine Rule, the women have written down 24 rules they live by in the Magdalene community, a place of healing and grace. “Magdalene is living out the call and making something of the Kingdom happen.” -Tony Campolo, author of Speaking My Mind “With honesty and urgency, Becca Stevens and her fellow pilgrims from Magdalene reveal the insights gained on their personal journeys to wholeness.” -Gloria Gaither, Christian recording artist “Magdalene has a tremendous track record of bringing recovery, hope, and independence to women in need.” -Bill Frist, M.D., Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader “In Find Your Way Home there are 24 rules...designed to provoke people into discovering that God loves you as you are right now. And that God loves the possibility within you.” -The Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop, Episcopal Church Magdalene is a residential community of women who have a criminal history of prostitution and drug abuse. Book excerpt: What if the person you thought you’d lost forever walked back into your life? A warm, uplifting novel about the unshakable bond between siblings, and what happens when a sister discovers her long-missing brother in the most unexpected place, from the author of Little Big Love. Emily has been looking for the same face in every crowd for more than a decade: her brother’s. She’ll do anything to find him, she just never expects that one day he will walk through the door of the London housing office where she works, homeless and in need of help. Emily’s overjoyed to see Stephen—her older brother, her hero, the one who taught her to look for the flash of a bird’s wings and instilled in her a love and respect for nature’s wonders—and invites him to live with her. But the baggage of the day that tore them apart, more than fifteen years before, is heavy. As they attempt to rebuild their relationship, they embark on the birding adventure they’d always promised to take when they were just children running wild in the wetlands of Canvey Island. And so, amid the soft, familiar calls of the marsh birds, they must finally confront what happened that June day—and in all the days since—if they are to finally find their way home.

Book excerpt: A Father’s rare blood disease cannot be healed by evangelical faith in the early 1980’s. As he leaves for treatment on the AIDS wing of the National Institutes of Health, his young son Finn goes to live in the homes of strangers in the rural South. Carrying his red fireman’s bag as a metaphor for his Father’s disease, Finn listens to his emotions about who is Good and who is Evil—conflicted as to why a loving God will not provide a miracle of healing, or heat, or food, or the love of a Mother. Sent to live with an Elderly couple in their rustic cabin on Panther Mountain, Finn is shown and taught the ways of the Native Cherokee that lived in the meadow. In the lantern glow of deep conversations, he learns that love is a fountain whose only business is to flow. Finn witnessed the handwritten letters of Jon and Elizabeth and their promise to each other to be reincarnated as Doves. Finn returns to the Wheat Hill House in grief. Wishing his Stepmother would be content only to break his bones. He becomes a caretaker for his Father, who is desperate to buy a pardon from God. Finn returns to the mountain when his Father returns to the National Institutes of Health. Introduced to the Beloved Community, he learns how plants heal themselves. The history of the Cherokee, Skyuka, and the Elder Fire becomes real as he uncovers artifacts on the mountain. He realized that the universal language of every heart is truth and that all who love are born of God. Eternal life is not merited but measured in how much love we leave behind. Though, at times, Evil does kill the Chiefs of Peace, time has never stopped seeing them being born.
