Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two brothers put a mask over their face and went in the bank expecting to obtain a huge amount of money. They started hollering for the customers to get in the floor or sit with their backs to the wall. No one recognized who the robbers could be due to the crazy masks they were wearing. After the men put money in the cloth bag, they ran as fast as they could run, but not until the Security Guard pushed the masks from the faces of the two men. The men started running even faster. They sure didn't want to be caught. After they did their exit from the bank, they stopped long enough to transfer the money they had in the bag to a black suitcase. By accident, the man took the wrong bag since the lady's bag was just like his. She was beginning to panic because she had something valuable in her bag that the man now had in his possession. The ladies looked at the luggage tag of the man's bag and decided since they now had his name, they would look up his address and go make a switch with him. The four ladies had a bad situation earlier in the week and they didn't want anything to happen for the rest of their stay in Savannah. They finally found the address of the man who took Brianna's suitcase. The four ladies decided they could make the switch themselves, but these men didn't want to cooperate. The man had a twin brother and the girls knew the men were going to be trouble for them, but they could be mean if they have to. They would not let the twins have their way. All Brianna wanted was her necklace that was valuable. The other women she was with didn't want anything but to go home.

Book Terror Television

Download or read book Terror Television written by John Kenneth Muir and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2013-02-25 with total page 1710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although horror shows on television are popular in the 1990s thanks to the success of Chris Carter's The X-Files, such has not always been the case. Creators Rod Serling, Dan Curtis, William Castle, Quinn Martin, John Newland, George Romero, Stephen King, David Lynch, Wes Craven, Sam Raimi, Aaron Spelling and others have toiled to bring the horror genre to American living rooms for years. This large-scale reference book documents an entire genre, from the dawn of modern horror television with the watershed Serling anthology, Night Gallery (1970), a show lensed in color and featuring more graphic makeup and violence than ever before seen on the tube, through more than 30 programs, including those of the 1998-1999 season. Complete histories, critical reception, episode guides, cast, crew and guest star information, as well as series reviews are included, along with footnotes, a lengthy bibliography and an in-depth index. From Kolchak: The Night Stalker to Millennium, from The Evil Touch to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Twin Peaks, Terror Television is a detailed reference guide to three decades of frightening television programs, both memorable and obscure.

Book Terror Down Under

Download or read book Terror Down Under written by Daniel Best and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2023-07-27 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1948, the Australian government banned the production, importation and exhibition of horror films in a move to appease religious communities and entertainment watchdogs. Drawing upon previously unseen government documents, private letters and contemporary newspaper accounts, this book is the first to extensively cover the history of censorship and the early production of horror movies in Australia. Beginning its examination in the late 19th century, the book documents the earliest horror films like Georges Melies' The Haunted Castle (1896), and how Australians enjoyed such films before the ban. The book then explains how certain imports, like 1954's Creature from the Black Lagoon, were able to circumvent the ban while others were not. It also reveals how Australian television, though similarly impacted by government censorship, was occasionally able to broadcast films technically banned from cinematic release. The work concludes with a look at the first Australian horror films produced after the ban was formally lifted in 1969, like Terry Bourke's Night of Fear (1973).

Book excerpt: August 1888. Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Charles Warren has a precious artefact, a relic of incalculable value that dates back to the very earliest days of human history, in his possession. Previously sent to Jerusalem to survey and explore the ancient religious sites there, he found the solid gold object while excavating a hidden chamber under the Temple Mount, and smuggled it back to England. When a mysterious stranger pays Warren a visit, he's terrified to discover that the man is on the trail of the ancient relic but, with Warren's entire career and reputation at stake, he denies all knowledge of the object, little knowing just how far the stranger is prepared to go to destroy him and recover the artefact. But when the first murder takes place, and Martha Tabram is found stabbed to death in Whitechapel, Warren realizes the callous determination and disregard for human life of his ruthless enemy. And then the Ripper strikes again. And again. As the body count rises, and the Metropolitan Police scour the streets of Whitechapel in a vain attempt to apprehend the murderer, Warren knows that his reputation - and perhaps even his life - hangs in the balance.

Book excerpt: Biblical Dysfunctional Families That Made It, Now So Can You; is a book that takes a private look at different Biblical families and their dysfunctional backgrounds and how they succeeded in spite of them. It brings the bible into 21st century perspective in order to help people facing today issues find a godly solution for them. While times may have changed, the struggles remain real and the same - incest, murder, rejection, greed, lies, misguided ministers, bad in-laws, sibling rivalry and deceptive marriages to name a few.
