Book Microwave Propagation in Ferrimagnetics

Download or read book Microwave Propagation in Ferrimagnetics written by M. S. Sodha and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the last three decades, interest in the field of interaction of microwaves with ferrimagnetics has steadily increased. Investigations in tlris field have led to the development of a number of devices used for a variety of applications. The initial emphasis of the investigators was on the microwave behavior of ferrimagnetics placed in cavities and metallic waveguides and associated devices. This work has been presented in various books, monographs, and reviews written during the sixties. In recent years, interest in microwave propagation in ferrimagnetics has shifted from loaded waveguides to relatively new areas, e. g. , magnetostatic and magnetoelastic waves in layered structures, microwave propagation in ferrimagnetic strip lines and microstrips, etc. Such investigations are important from the viewpoint of devices such as delay lines, filters, convolvers, guided wave amplifiers, striplines, and microstrip phase shif ters, circulators, edge guided mode isolators, etc. As such, we feit the need for a text (meant for graduate students starting work in these areas as weil as practicing electrical engineers and applied physicists) which presents a coherent account of the various aspects of propagation of microwaves (electromagnetic as weil as magnetoelastic) in biased ferrimagnetics and discusses the relatively recent developments in the theory and operation of the aforementioned devices, and this book is the result. A biased ferrimagnetic is, in the mathematical sense, a complicated medium, electromagnetically as weil as elastically.

Book The Use of Ferrites at Microwave Frequencies

Download or read book The Use of Ferrites at Microwave Frequencies written by L. Thourel and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-10-27 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Use of Ferrites at Microwave Frequencies describes the applications of ferrites at microwave frequencies and the apparatus involved. Topics covered range from the properties of ferrites to gyromagnetic and non-reciprocal effects, ferrite isolators, circulators, and modulators. The use of ferrites in variable frequency filter cavities is also discussed. Mathematical explanations are reduced to the strict minimum and only the results of calculations are indicated. This book consists of seven chapters and opens with a review of the theory of magnetism, touching on subjects such as the BOHR magneton, diamagnetism and paramagnetism, ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism, ferrimagnetism, and demagnetizing. The next chapter deals with the elementary theory of gyromagnetic effects and covers the kinetic moment theorem, precession of the spin moment, gyromagnetic resonance, complex permeability, and gyromagnetic effects in the atom. The reader is then introduced to ferrites and their properties; non-reciprocal effects and their applications; and ferrite isolators, circulators, and modulators. The final chapter describes the use of ferrites in the design of cavities whose resonant frequency is controlled by a magnetic field or filters with variable characteristics. This monograph is written primarily for microwave and electronics engineers.

Book Microwave Properties of Magnetic Films

Download or read book Microwave Properties of Magnetic Films written by C. Vittoria and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1993 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Previous works on this subject tended to be too specialised, making it difficult for students who lack the necessary background in this subject to follow. This book attempts to remedy the situation by providing students from other disciplines the basic background necessary to understand the discussion in this book. In this way, it provides a bridge between basic science and applications/course work. The book begins by presenting the fundamental principles of microwave materials using electrical engineering terminology, hence providing the necessary background before it discusses well-known physical concepts or solid state. Having reviewed the basic concepts, it goes on to discuss a systematic procedure of describing the microwave properties of materials. The organised and comprehensive nature of the book makes it a very useful reading and reference source.

Book Handbook of Modern Ferromagnetic Materials

Download or read book Handbook of Modern Ferromagnetic Materials written by Alex Goldman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 656 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Below is a copy of Professor Takeshi Takei's original preface that he wrote for my first book, Modem Ferrite Teclmology. I was proud to receive this preface and include it here with pride and affection. We were saddened to learn of his death at 92 on March 12, 1992. Preface It is now some 50 years since ferrites debuted as an important new category of magnetic materials. They were prized for a range of properties that had no equivalents in existing metal magnetic materials, and it was not long before full-fledged research and development efforts were underway. Today, ferrites are employed in a truly wide range of applications, and the efforts of the many men and women working in the field are yielding many highly intriguing results. New, high-performance products are appearing one after another, and it would seem we have only scratched the surface of the hidden possibilities of these fascinating materials. Dr. Alex Goldman is well qualified to talk about the state of the art in ferrites. For many years Dr. Goldman has been heavily involved in the field as director of the research and development division of Spang & Co. and other enterprises. This book, Modem Ferrite Technology, based in part on his own experiences, presents a valuable overview of the field. It is testimony to his commitment and bountiful knowledge about one oftoday's most intriguing areas of technology.
