Book Method for Calculating the Rolling and Yawing Moments Due to Rolling for Unswept Wings with Or Without Flaps Or Ailerons by Use of Nonlinear Section Lift Data

Download or read book Method for Calculating the Rolling and Yawing Moments Due to Rolling for Unswept Wings with Or Without Flaps Or Ailerons by Use of Nonlinear Section Lift Data written by Albert P. Martina and published by . This book was released on 1953 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The methods of NACA Reports 865 and 1090 have been applied to the calculation of the rolling- and yawing-moment coefficients due to rolling for unswept wings with or without flaps or ailerons. The methods allow the use of nonlinear section lift data together with lifting-line theory. Two calculated examples are presented in simplified computing forms in order to illustrate the procedures involved.

Book 15th International Conference on Soft Computing Models in Industrial and Environmental Applications SOCO 2020

Download or read book 15th International Conference on Soft Computing Models in Industrial and Environmental Applications SOCO 2020 written by Álvaro Herrero and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-08-28 with total page 880 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains accepted papers presented at SOCO 2020 conference held in the beautiful and historic city of Burgos (Spain), in September 2020. Soft computing represents a collection or set of computational techniques in machine learning, computer science and some engineering disciplines, which investigate, simulate, and analyze very complex issues and phenomena. After a through peer-review process, the SOCO 2020 International Program Committee selected 83 papers which are published in these conference proceedings and represents an acceptance rate of 35%. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the SOCO 2020 edition was blended, combining on-site and on-line participation. In this relevant edition a special emphasis was put on the organization of special sessions. Eleven special session were organized related to relevant topics such as: Soft Computing Applications in Precision Agriculture, Manufacturing and Management Systems, Management of Industrial and Environmental Enterprises, Logistics and Transportation Systems, Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles, Computer Vision, Laser-Based Sensing and Measurement and other topics such as Forecasting Industrial Time Series, IoT, Big Data and Cyber Physical Systems, Non-linear Dynamical Systems and Fluid Dynamics, Modeling and Control systems The selection of papers was extremely rigorous in order to maintain the high quality of SOCO conference editions and we would like to thank the members of the Program Committees for their hard work in the reviewing process. This is a crucial process to the creation of a high standard conference and the SOCO conference would not exist without their help.

Book Nonlinear Lifting Line Theory for Predicting Stalling Instabilities on Wings of Moderate Aspect Ratio

Download or read book Nonlinear Lifting Line Theory for Predicting Stalling Instabilities on Wings of Moderate Aspect Ratio written by and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A computational procedure has been developed for predicting the time dependent longitudinal and lateral aerodynamic characteristics of wing-body configurations at angles of attack up to and beyond stall. The purpose of the procedure is to provide the aircraft designer with a tool for simulating and alleviating such adverse wing stalling characteristics as wing rock, wing drop, loss of roll control or roll control reversal, etc. and thereby lead to the design of aircraft with improved stall, departure and spin resistance characteristics. The procedure is based on nonlinear lifting line theory which has been modified to include unsteady wake effects.

Book The Lift Distribution of Swept back Wings

Download or read book The Lift Distribution of Swept back Wings written by United States. Air Force. Air Matériel Command and published by . This book was released on 1946 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two procedures for calculating the lift distribution along the span are given, in which better account is taken of the distribution of circulation over the area than in the Prandtl lifting-line theory. The methods are also applicable to wings with sweepback. Calculated results according to two methods agree excellently. Using the second, simpler method one needs about 3 hours for the calculation of the lift distribution of a straight wing, and about eight hours for this calculation for the swept-back wing. The results are compared with those of the Multhopp method and with experimental results. Finally there is a brief not on the swept-back wing in sideslip.

Book An Alternative Formulation of the Lifting Line Wing Equation and Its Solution

Download or read book An Alternative Formulation of the Lifting Line Wing Equation and Its Solution written by Theodore Henry Gawain and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the report, the standard wing equation, as normally derived from lifting line theory, is further refined and a solution procedure more basic than the usual collocation technique is developed. The calculation method adopted avoids the necessity of performing an explicit matrix inversion; all equations can be solved sequentially, one at a time. On the other hand this technique involves the evaluation of numerous integrals over the span. The calculations are cumulative, and can be carried as far as necessary to achieve any required degree of accuracy. The analysis is interesting not only for purposes of practical calculation but also for the light it sheds on the essential mathematical structure of the basic aerodynamic phenomena involved. This same general method of calculation can also be readily adapted to the solution of other common types of engineering problems. (Author).
