Book Metal Detecting Hidden Places

Download or read book Metal Detecting Hidden Places written by Rob Mustin and published by Rob Mustin. This book was released on 2015-02-28 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metal Detecting is Easy Finding New Places that are Old & Forgotten is the Tricky Part… If we all had a Treasure Map then this would be too easy and there would be no buried Treasure left to go out and find. My guide will help you create your own real treasure map. I quickly learned about 6 months after I started metal detecting that I need to do something different. I have hunted the beaches, hunted all kinds of parks and every school yard within 30 miles, I want to hunt something different. I wanted to hunt something really old; I want to hunt somewhere that would give me the chance to find something worth bragging about on all the Social Media outlets. I wanted to find relics that have a story. I was so tired of reading and seeing all the pictures on Facebook and other social media outlets about these great finds from the 1800’s or even older, why can’t I dig up something like what other people seem to be finding? So I started researching about old places and the history right here in my own zip code, I was shocked at what I was quickly learning about my own city. I couldn't believe how much history had taken place within a few miles from my own front porch. Even though I grew up here, I most have forgotten about all the land marks that I have passed by over the last 40 years, tunnel vision as most would call it. So after finding all kinds of new hunting places, I did what anyone else would do these days, I created a group page on Facebook and I started posting information and the pictures of all the new locations I had found to go out and hunt. Next thing I know, I have over 600 followers. Then people started posting request for me to help find Old & Forgotten places where they lived. I started posting those new places for them to go out and hunt. Then I started to get even more request on a daily basis. A lot of the new requests were coming in as a private message asking me if I “would not post the info I had found publicly”. We Treasure Hunters DO NOT like to share information about a great location; hmmmm seems when we do share a location, everyone shows up with a Metal Detector looking for buried Treasure. After getting more request then I could get to on a daily bases, someone had asked me if I had an eBook or any kind of Instructable guide, which could show them how to Research and Locate Old and Forgotten Places. What a Great Idea… So here is my complete step by step guide on how to research online, using several FREE interactive tools and websites available to anyone. I would also like to add, there is nothing to sign up for or purchase with the websites and online resources I use. By following my Guide, I explain in great detail how to use each of these FREE tools available. When you use these tools in conjunction with each other, you will see that you have a complete arsenal of information that will help anyone locate new hunting places quickly. Let the hunt begin…

Book The Secret

Download or read book The Secret written by Byron Preiss and published by ibooks. This book was released on 2016-10-05 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tale begins over three-hundred years ago, when the Fair People—the goblins, fairies, dragons, and other fabled and fantastic creatures of a dozen lands—fled the Old World for the New, seeking haven from the ways of Man. With them came their precious jewels: diamonds, rubies, emeralds, pearls... But then the Fair People vanished, taking with them their twelve fabulous treasures. And they remained hidden until now... Across North America, these twelve treasures, over ten-thousand dollars in precious jewels, are buried. The key to finding each can be found within the twelve full color paintings and verses of The Secret. Yet The Secret is much more than that. At long last, you can learn not only the whereabouts of the Fair People's treasure, but also the modern forms and hiding places of their descendants: the Toll Trolls, Maitre D'eamons, Elf Alphas, Tupperwerewolves, Freudian Sylphs, Culture Vultures, West Ghosts and other delightful creatures in the world around us. The Secret is a field guide to them all. Many "armchair treasure hunt" books have been published over the years, most notably Masquerade (1979) by British artist Kit Williams. Masquerade promised a jewel-encrusted golden hare to the first person to unravel the riddle that Williams cleverly hid in his art. In 1982, while everyone in Britain was still madly digging up hedgerows and pastures in search of the golden hare, The Secret: A Treasure Hunt was published in America. The previous year, author and publisher Byron Preiss had traveled to 12 locations in the continental U.S. (and possibly Canada) to secretly bury a dozen ceramic casques. Each casque contained a small key that could be redeemed for one of 12 jewels Preiss kept in a safe deposit box in New York. The key to finding the casques was to match one of 12 paintings to one of 12 poetic verses, solve the resulting riddle, and start digging. Since 1982, only two of the 12 casques have been recovered. The first was located in Grant Park, Chicago, in 1984 by a group of students. The second was unearthed in 2004 in Cleveland by two members of the Quest4Treasure forum. Preiss was killed in an auto accident in the summer of 2005, but the hunt for his casques continues.

Book Metal Detecting

Download or read book Metal Detecting written by Sophie Henner and published by Freegulls Publishing House. This book was released on with total page 41 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metal detecting involves using a metal detector, an electronic device designed to find metal objects nearby. These devices vary in form, from handheld wands to large industrial machines. The main components of a metal detector include the control box, which houses the electronic circuitry, controls, and batteries; the search coil, also known as the antenna, which senses metal objects; the shaft, which connects the search coil to the control box and is often adjustable for comfort; and sometimes a stabilizer to keep the unit steady during use. The search coil generates an electromagnetic field, and when this field encounters a metal object, it creates a disturbance. The control box processes this disturbance and sends a signal to the user, typically an audible beep or a visual display. Metal detecting is used for various purposes, including treasure hunting, where individuals search for coins, jewelry, relics, and other valuable items lost or buried; archaeology, to locate historical artifacts at dig sites; security, for scanning individuals or luggage for concealed weapons or contraband; and construction, to detect metal pipes or rebar in walls, floors, or underground. It is also a popular hobby for enthusiasts who explore parks, beaches, and other areas for interesting finds.

Book Daniel Webster s 52 Kids

Download or read book Daniel Webster s 52 Kids written by Donna J. Wilson and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2002-05 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE 52nd KID- If you counted, you know there are forty-nine chapters. Two are "double" because each married another classmate, so that leaves one-one. My story is told all the way through: clever, huh! To condense the facts, however, I need to say that I'm married to Robert "Bob" Wilson, and I have a daughter, Kim; her husband, Mike; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Gloria. They are the truest blessings that God has given me, next to His assurance of everlasting life. The class of '52 is a continual source of delight, surprise, and frustration-and those of us who meet in Tulsa on a fairly regular basis are luckier than all the rest. The photo is from the 1998 Home for the Holidays when I was inducted into the Daniel Webster Hall of Fame.
