  • Pages : 349 pages

Download or read book Ariana s Pride written by Margaret Lake and published by Jobree Publishing. This book was released on 2009-05-03 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ariana awoke to the sun shining in her eyes through the unglazed window, a slight smile on her face. She stretched her arms over her head, rolling onto her back. She'd had the most wonderful dream. A man's hands caressing her bare flesh softly, a man's strong arms around her, holding her close, murmuring soothing words into her ear. She felt the unfamiliar straw under her and her eyes flew open. She stared around her wildly, not knowing where she was or how she got there. She tried to sit up but felt dizzy and fell back onto the make-shift pallet, her hands clutching the rough blanket to her naked body. "Dear God, where are my clothes? How did I come to be here?” she thought frantically. It all came back to her in a rush; the soldiers, her wild ride through the forest to warn her father, her flight from the battle, the storm. Beyond that, she knew nothing. Tears started to trickle down her cheeks at all she had lost. This would not do. She had to get out of here, find help, reach Frederick. Dashing the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand, Ariana rolled over and made it to her hands and knees. She saw her clothes by the fire, hanging from sticks thrust into the ground. She remembered being carefully wrapped in the blanket and tenderly laid on the straw. Someone had cared for her, well. Perhaps she could enlist this stranger's aid in finding her way to Frederick. But it would not do for the stranger to find her naked and weak. He must find her fully dressed and standing on her feet as Lady Ariana, daughter of the great Earl William. She would then be in a position to demand his help. After all, he was probably one of her father's peasants and, thus, owed his allegiance to her as well. Ariana crawled over to her clothes and pulled them toward her. She managed to draw on her pantalets and chemise before having to rest against the wall. She closed her eyes and sat there, trying to catch her breath.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sometimes all we need is to believe. Ariana Estrella’s blog features all things Christmas, all year long. While traveling upstate New York in search of the perfect Christmas village, she lands in Charmington amidst the town’s annual Christmas Jubilee—and a snowstorm. Delighted and giddy with holiday cheer, the magic of the season seeps deeper into her bones. Matt Matson—owner of the century-old Main Street Hardware in Charmington—despite all the holiday hoopla, dislikes the season. He’s all about regular business—there’s not a holiday ornament or tree trimming bauble to be found in the store. The season triggers unwanted memories, so he avoids the celebrations—and the people—as much as possible. While Ariana originally sets out to find the perfect small town Christmas village, she finds the town Scrooge instead. No amount of Christmas cheer lures the grumpy hardware store owner out of his bah-humbug attitude. Then it snows. And snows. Will two days snowbound together at the historic Holly Hill Inn push Ariana and Matt closer together on their holiday differences—or send them each on their merry way once the storm clears?

An eight-year stint in prison and sharing a cell with Eddie Jaramillo, a Cartel cocaine smuggler who once worked for El Chapo, has him rethinking his life choices. Convinced by Eddie that there is easy money to be made in Miami if the two of them team up, John leaves prison and heads to the Sunshine State, ready to be his own boss for once. Things in Miami are more complicated, though, than Eddie made them seem. Staying one step ahead of the law and their competition requires paying off officials and gaining the trust and support of La Fantasma, The Ghost, a woman who has survived in a man’s world and risen to be the ultimate force to be reckoned with in the drug smuggling game. Dealing with their competition has left The Butcher with more bodies than ever to dispose of through his own unique methods. Worse, is the growing realization that he is hemmed in on every side. Being hunted by a joint DEA-FBI task force led by two agents with an axe to grind against Eddie and him, threatened by the mafia for interfering in their local business, betrayed by those in his inner circle, and realizing that he and his new business associate share different goals and values has him wondering: is there anyone in Miami he isn’t going to have to kill?
