Book The Merging of Two Worlds

Download or read book The Merging of Two Worlds written by Roy E. Bourque and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-09 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SCIENCE is a left-brained subject. It sees the world in mathematical models. It is all built on logic. RELIGION is a right-brained subject. It sees the world in associations. It is all built on symbolism. Misconceptions are what prevent us from reconciling the associations with the mathematical models. Once the misconceptions are revealed, the problem goes away. The teachings of Eastern Philosophy are interwoven throughout the Old and New Testaments. What they have to say explains a great deal about what the Holy Bible is trying to say to us. It reveals much of the symbolism used in religion so that it can be understood. It takes you beyond the realm of faith and into the realm of knowing. The Mayan Calendar and its apparent connection to end-time prophecy is also reviewed. The evolution of consciousness that it reveals is leading us on a very definite path. Taken collectively, evolution, split brain, Eastern Philosophy, Christianity, and the Mayan Calendar are interwoven to present a worldview that is equally fascinating and very promising.

Book Merging the Inner Outer World of Man

Download or read book Merging the Inner Outer World of Man written by John Brokaar and published by Digital on Demand. This book was released on 2022-07-18 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE ALCHEMICAL MAGIC EMERGES, WITHIN THE CONSCIOUS MERGER OF OPPOSITES In any such merger, the primary elements are fire and water, applied through a process of friction and non-attachment. However, for the magical miraculous to emerge, this must be done with conscious harmony, immersed in care and grounded on Truth. The surreal existence of the hybrid-human being, is the product of this: As a physical, sentient, mindful, yet also psychic and spiritual entity, its reality seems improbable, yet somehow, it magically is. If adding to the enigma, that this being is of a finite and temporal form, with an acknowledged understanding of the existant reality of infinity, that exists within a timeless construct known as the Cosmos, the wondrous mystery takes the next level. When then considering its collective organism called ‘civilization’, with all its joy, beauty, innovation and achievement, balanced against fear-based greed and destructive barbarism, then certainly, none of it by rights should exist – and yet it does – and it gets better: This microscopic human being, who exists for only a flash of Time, within the absurdly complex yet magnificent, endless and eternal Universe, can – within that single spark of Time – become aware of the whole: the All and Everything! By Merging the Inner and Outer World of Man we will find, that nothing is random and everything has purpose; the good and bad, the beautiful and ugly. It contemplates WHY this is so, which enables us to understand HOW to live, love and accept, every part – unconditionally. This is important, as non-understanding leads to fear, anger, greed and a cyclic realm of non-existence. The effects of the phenomena, as described in Book I & II, The Inner Evolution of Man, and The Outer World of Man, now enable us to enhance magic, and transcend out of the illusory, by Merging the Inner and Outer World of Man.

Book excerpt: Reasoning is an integral part of intelligent systems in fields like databases, logic programming, robotics, knowledge engineering, human/computer interfaces, programming environments, etc. In reality any such system has to cope with a changing world and its dynamics. Hence it is of great importance that reasoning must account for coping with change in order to be truly useful in practice. The book comprises several contributions to current ways of approaching this problem. On the one hand it surveys and synthesizes recent research work, while on the other hand new research results are included. Among the topics treated are logics for reasoning about actions and planning, belief revision and the reconciliation of logically conflicting inputs, resolving of conflicts by merging of knowledge and issues in the evolution in object-oriented databases. The book is aimed at the researcher and advanced student active in this field.

Download or read book The Barbarous Years written by Bernard Bailyn and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2013-08-13 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize A compelling, fresh account of the first great transit of people from Britain, Europe, and Africa to British North America, their involvements with each other, and their struggles with the indigenous peoples of the eastern seaboard. The immigrants were a mixed multitude. They came from England, the Netherlands, the German and Italian states, France, Africa, Sweden, and Finland, and they moved to the western hemisphere for different reasons, from different social backgrounds and cultures. They represented a spectrum of religious attachments. In the early years, their stories are not mainly of triumph but of confusion, failure, violence, and the loss of civility as they sought to normalize situations and recapture lost worlds. It was a thoroughly brutal encounter—not only between the Europeans and native peoples and between Europeans and Africans, but among Europeans themselves, as they sought to control and prosper in the new configurations of life that were emerging around them.

Book Cultures Merging

Download or read book Cultures Merging written by Eric L. Jones and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2016-06-28 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Economists agree about many things--contrary to popular opinion--but the majority agree about culture only in the sense that they no longer give it much thought." So begins the first chapter of Cultures Merging, in which Eric Jones--one of the world's leading economic historians--takes an eloquent, pointed, and personal look at the question of whether culture determines economics or is instead determined by it. Bringing immense learning and originality to the issue of cultural change over the long-term course of global economic history, Jones questions cultural explanations of much social behavior in Europe, East Asia, the United States, Australia, and the Middle East. He also examines contemporary globalization, arguing that while centuries of economic competition have resulted in the merging of cultures into fewer and larger units, these changes have led to exciting new syntheses. Culture matters to economic outcomes, Jones argues, but cultures in turn never stop responding to market forces, even if some elements of culture stubbornly persist beyond the time when they can be explained by current economic pressures. In the longer run, however, cultures show a fluidity that will astonish some cultural determinists. Jones concludes that culture's "ghostly transit through history" is much less powerful than noneconomists often claim, yet it has a greater influence than economists usually admit. The product of a lifetime of reading and thinking on culture and economics, a work of history and an analysis of the contemporary world, Cultures Merging will be essential reading for anyone concerned about the interaction of cultures and markets around the world.

Book Political Theory and the Animal Human Relationship

Download or read book Political Theory and the Animal Human Relationship written by Judith Grant and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 2016-03-31 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Examines how the animal/human divide has influenced power dynamics. The division of life into animal and human is one of the fundamental schisms found within political societies. Ironically, given the immense influence of the animal/human divide, especially upon power dynamics, the discipline in charge of theorizing and studying power—political science and theory—has had little to say about the animal/human. This book seeks to amend this vast oversight. Acknowledging the complexity of the changing differences between animals and humans, the contributors explore such topics as Marx, Freud, the animal, and civilization; dog breeding, racism, and democracy; the meaningful silences of animals; how sovereignty reconfigures the animal/human; and the paradoxical struggles against being dehumanized among immigrant workers in a slaughterhouse. Political Theory and the Animal/Human Relationship is necessary reading for anyone who wants to understand how power has been influenced by the animal/human divide, and what we can do about it.
