Download or read book My little Fox written by Frost and published by StarNovel (HK) Co., Limited. This book was released on 2023-09-05 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mia always knew she was as ordinary as a girl could be, living a life of bliss with her mother until the day she died. On her deathbed, her mother let her know that she was the illegitimate daughter of the ruling Wolf Clan king of the East. This was supposed to be a good news. Wasn't it? But that was not the case because soon she realised, she was the trigger of the curse that had awakened. The curse that was chasing her was because of the baby she was carrying in her womb from her husband, about whom she knew very little except the fact that he worked at the Wolf Embassy in the mortal world. Something was not right. The curse could only be evoked if there were any illegal 'blood ties' formed between the Wolf Clan of the East and the Fox Clan of the West. Scared, alone, afraid, and running from inevitable doom, the only logical conclusion her mind could come to was that ,if she was a wolf, her wolf husband, was in fact a fox in a wolf's hide.
Download or read book Nuclease Methods and Protocols written by Catherine H. Schein and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-02-03 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nucleases, enzymes that restructure or degrade nucleic acid polymers, are vital to the control of every area of metabolism. They range from “housekeeping” enzymes with broad substrate ranges to extremely specific tools (1). Many types of nucleases are used in lab protocols, and their commercial and clinical uses are expanding. The purpose of Nuclease Methods and Protocols is to introduce the reader to some we- characterized protein nucleases, and the methods used to determine their activity, structure, interaction with other molecules, and physiological role. Each chapter begins with a mini-review on a specific nuclease or a nuclease-related theme. Although many chapters cover several topics, they were arbitrarily divided into five parts: Part I, “Characterizing Nuclease Activity,” includes protocols and assays to determine general (processive, distributive) or specific mechanisms. Methods to assay nuclease products, identify cloned nucleases, and determine their physiological role are also included here. Part II, “Inhibitors and Activators of Nucleases,” summarizes assays for measuring the effects of other proteins and small molecules. Many of these inhibitors have clinical relevance. Part III, “Relating Nuclease Structure and Function,” provides an overview of methods to determine or model the 3-D structure of nucleases and their complexes with substrates and inhibitors. A 3-D structure can greatly aid the rational design of nucleases and inhibitors for specific purposes. Part IV, “Nucleases in the Clinic,” summarizes assays and protocols suitable for use with t- sues and for nuclease based therapeutics.

Download or read book Comparative Climatology of Terrestrial Planets written by Stephen J. Mackwell and published by University of Arizona Press. This book was released on 2014-01-25 with total page 1699 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The early development of life, a fundamental question for humankind, requires the presence of a suitable planetary climate. Our understanding of how habitable planets come to be begins with the worlds closest to home. Venus, Earth, and Mars differ only modestly in their mass and distance from the Sun, yet their current climates could scarcely be more divergent. Only Earth has abundant liquid water, Venus has a runaway greenhouse, and evidence for life-supporting conditions on Mars points to a bygone era. In addition, an Earth-like hydrologic cycle has been revealed in a surprising place: Saturn’s cloud-covered satellite Titan has liquid hydrocarbon rain, lakes, and river networks. Deducing the initial conditions for these diverse worlds and unraveling how and why they diverged to their current climates is a challenge at the forefront of planetary science. Through the contributions of more than sixty leading experts in the field, Comparative Climatology of Terrestrial Planets sets forth the foundations for this emerging new science and brings the reader to the forefront of our current understanding of atmospheric formation and climate evolution. Particular emphasis is given to surface-atmosphere interactions, evolving stellar flux, mantle processes, photochemistry, and interactions with the interplanetary environment, all of which influence the climatology of terrestrial planets. From this cornerstone, both current professionals and most especially new students are brought to the threshold, enabling the next generation of new advances in our own solar system and beyond. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new book examines all of the available source materials, dating from the ninth century to the present, that have associated Arthur with sites in Wales. The material ranges from Medieval Latin chronicles, French romances and Welsh poetry through to the earliest printed works, antiquarian notebooks, periodicals, academic publications and finally books, written by both amateur and professional historians alike, in the modern period that have made various claims about the identity of Arthur and his kingdom. All of these sources are here placed in context, with the issues of dating and authorship discussed, and their impact and influence assessed. This book also contains a gazetteer of all the sites mentioned, including those yet to be identified, and traces their Arthurian associations back to their original source.

Download or read book Don t Bring Home a White Boy written by Karyn Langhorne Folan and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2010-02-02 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Folan encourages readers to look beyond common generalizations and stereotypes about race and gender in interracial relationships. In Don’t Bring Home a White Boy, writer Karyn Langhorne Folan debunks the myths and common preconceptions about interracial relationships: Is a black woman who dates white men a traitor to her race? And is America’s history of black oppression a factor? Drawing on real-life testimonials, she boldly tackles this difficult subject with warmth, humor, and understanding, as she explores stereotypes of black female sexuality and white male perspectives on black female beauty. Folan goes beyond statistics and offers firsthand insights on her own interracial relationship and attempts to tap into a woman’s desire to have all that they deserve instead of restricting themselves, simply because they want a “good black man.” Frank, authoritative, and universally relevant, her message to women is to look beyond skin color, accept themselves for who they are, and seek a man who truly loves them, regardless of race.
