Book MODERN PHOTOMICROGRAPHY

Download or read book MODERN PHOTOMICROGRAPHY written by BRACEGIRDLE and published by Garland Science. This book was released on 1995-09-30 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern PhotoMICROgraphy provides an up-to-date introduction to the theory and practice of producing high quality photomicrographs. The book offers practical guidance on obtaining a clear image and recording this accurately, with details on: current imaging methods, choice of films and film speeds, recording the image in monochrome and colour, calibration of equipment, and preparing the results for publication. Modern PhotoMICROgraphy is essential reading for all practising microscopists who wish to record images at magnifications greater than 50x. The companion volume to this text, Scientific PhotoMACROgraphy, is a practical guide to the photography of specimens with a magnification range of 1-50x. The two books should be read in conjunction to provide a complete overview of methods for photographing magnified images.

Book Photography with a Microscope

Download or read book Photography with a Microscope written by Fred Rost and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2000-02-17 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This beautifully illustrated book describes how to record images viewed through a microscope. Dealing with the principles and practice of photomicrography, it is written for all who take photomicrographs, whether beginners or more experienced practitioners. The book describes techniques which may be applied to many disciplines for teaching, research, archives, or pleasure. Techniques for the improvement of contrast are covered in considerable detail. Besides standard photography, the book describes modern digital techniques and there is also a short chapter on drawing. In addition to its value as a work of reference, the authors' clear, didactic style makes this book suitable as a textbook for courses in photomicrography and/or elementary light microscopy.

Book Light microscopic techniques in biology and medicine

Download or read book Light microscopic techniques in biology and medicine written by J. James and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Up to about twenty-five years ago, virtually the entire field of microscopy could be overseen and even practized by any active research worker. The rapid evolution which microscopy in its broadest sense has since undergone and which has contributed greatly to our insight in many fields of biological science and medicine has, however, lead to a progressive specialisation. Both experienced investigators in clinical and biological laboratories and post graduate students, confronted with a limited number of microscopic tech niques in their daily research work, have increasing difficulty in keeping (or obtaining) a general idea of the many time-honoured and new possibilities which microscopy has to offer. This book has been written with the aim of presenting general informa tion on light microscopic techniques, at a level somewhere in between booklets like those provided by microscope manufacturers (which are often too much focussed on the production program of a particular make) and very advanced treatises with a thorough mathematical treatment of all phenomena concerned. The physically oriented texts moreover often do not sufficiently take into account the practical situation in a medical or biolog ical laboratory; on the other hand, the value of really understanding what one is doing in using a microscopic technique is often underestimated. At tempt has been made, therefore, to present sufficient background informa tion necessary for a rational application of the different microscopical tech niques in their mutual relationship.

Download or read book Biomedical Light Microscopy written by J. James and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New interest in light microscopy of the last few years has not been backed up by adequate general literature. This book intends to fill the gap between specialized texts on detailed topics and general introductory booklets, mostly dealing with the use of the conventional light microscope only. In this short textbook both new developments in microscopy and basic facts of image formation will be treated, including often neglected topics such as axial resolving power, lens construction, photomicrography and correct use of phase-en interference contrast systems. Theoretical background will be dealt with as far as necessary for a well-considered application of these techniques enabling a deliberate choice for the approach of a certain problem. Over 150 illustrations (photomicrographs and diagrams) complete the information on microscopy of the nineties in the biomedical field, intended for scientists, doctors, technicians and research students. Many drawings have been contributed by the illustrator R. Kreuger; the photographic work has been executed by J. Peeterse. Secretarial assistance in preparing the manuscript was given by Ms T. M. S. Pierik. Dr M. J. Pearson has corrected the English of the final text.
