Book The Soulless One

Download or read book The Soulless One written by Mark L. Prophet and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2009-12-09 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Soulless One unmasks the presence of technologically superior soulless ones—spiritually bankrupt beings who migrated to earth thousands of years ago and subjugated a humanity entranced by their scientific wizardry. Fantasy? Not at all. Tablets from ancient Sumer have confirmed the story of “gods” who used genetic engineering to create humanlike life on earth, the progenitors of today’s “mechanization man.” This book strips the mask from these fallen ones and reveals their strategies: their political philosophies, their mechanized righteousness, their materialism, and their goals to dominate the body, mind, and soul of the children of God. It also reveals how you can break free from this programming and unlock the creative spark within yourself."

Download or read book Mechanical Fantasy Box written by Patrick Cowley and published by Dark Entries Editions. This book was released on 2019-11-26 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chronicles of sex and disco in '70s San Francisco, from the revolutionary musician behind "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" Patrick Cowley (1950-82) was one of the most revolutionary and influential figures in electronic dance music. Born in Buffalo, Cowley moved to San Francisco in 1971 to study music at the City College of San Francisco. By the mid '70s, his synthesizer techniques landed him a job composing and producing songs for disco diva Sylvester, including hits such as "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)." Cowley created his own brand of peak-time party music known as Hi-NRG, dubbed "the San Francisco Sound." His life was cut short on November 12, 1982, when he died shortly after his 32nd birthday from AIDS-related illness. Mechanical Fantasy Box is Cowley's homoerotic journal, or, as he called it, "graphic accounts of one man's sex life." The journal begins in 1974 and ends in 1980 on his 30th birthday. It chronicles his slow rise to fame from lighting technician at the City Disco to crafting his ground-breaking 16-minute remix of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" to performing with Sylvester at the SF Opera House. Vivid descriptions are told of cruising in '70s SoMA sex venues, ecstatic highs in Buena Vista Park and composing "pornophonics" in his Castro apartment. For this book, artist Gwenaël Rattke created 25 original illustrations inspired by selected entries, three street maps documenting locations mentioned herein, and four collages of photos, ephemera and notes that Cowley had inserted in the journal. This book shows a very out-front, alive person going through the throes of gay liberation post-Stonewall.

Book Mechanical Alloying

Download or read book Mechanical Alloying written by Li Lü and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1997-11-30 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mechanical alloying (or mechanical milling) was invented in the 1970's as a method to develop dispersion-strengthened high temperature alloys with unique properties. With the discovery of formation of amorphous alloys using this technique, it has received new research interest in developing different material systems. Potential applications of this technique have been demonstrated in different areas of materials research. This book is intended as an introduction to mechanical alloying technique used in difference areas. This book contains basic information on the preparation of materials using the mechanical alloying technique. It is useful not only to undergraduate and post-graduate students, but also to scientists and engineers who wish to gain some understanding on the basic process and mechanisms of the process. The book begins with a brief introduction to provide a historical background understanding to the development of the mechanical alloying process. The experimental set-up in the alloying process is important. Currently there are different types of ball mills available. Some of them are specially designed for mechanical alloying process. Since the resultant materials are milling intensity and milling temperature dependent, ball mills should be carefully selected in order to obtain the desired materials and structures. This is discussed in chapter 2. The actual mechanical alloying process is being considered in Chapter 3. As it is essential to understand the use of processing control agents, the physical properties of some commonly used processing control agents are listed.

Book excerpt: "As Dustin Abnet shows, the robot-whether automaton, Mechanical Turk, cyborg, or iPhone, whether humanized machine or mechanized human being-has long been a fraught embodiment of human fears. Abnet investigates, moreover, how the discourse of the robot has reinforced social and economic inequalities as well as fantasies of social control. "Robots" as a trope are not necessarily mechanical but are rather embodiments of quasi humanity, exhibiting a mix of human and nonhuman characteristics. Such figures are troubling to dominant discourses, which cannot easily assimilate them or identify salient boundaries. The robot lurks beneath the fears that fracture society"--
