Download or read book Massey Ferguson 35 65 Models In Detail written by Michael Thorne and published by Herridge & Sons Limited. This book was released on 2015-03-01 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Launched in 1958, as the successor to the ubiquitous Ferguson TE20, the Masey-Ferguson 35 was a product of the merger of Massey-Harris and Ferguson. It incorporated numerous improvements and new features and became massively popular worldwide. Its companion, the 65 model, was introduced shortly afterwards and was a larger tractor, offered with the revolutionary Multi Power system that gave 12 forward and four reverse gears. Durable and versatile, these tractors are still a practical proposition today, and even unrestored examples command high prices. Michael Thorne, author of Ferguson TE20 in Detail, continues the story as he describes the development of these models, the production versions and their capabilities, options and extras, conversions, implements and their use today. Outstanding surviving examples are featured in some 80 photographs specially taken for this book, and there are approximately 120 accompanying archive illustrations.
Download or read book The Big Book of Massey Tractors written by Robert N. Pripps and published by Voyageur Press. This book was released on 2006 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first full-scale history of one of the largest farm tractor manufacturers of all time, peppered with pictures of Massey-Harris, Ferguson, and Massey Ferguson’s historic models, collectibles, sales memorabilia, and advertisements from old farm magazines. The Big Book of Massey Tractors tells the story of the mergers and machines that formed Massey Ferguson over several decades, and—because these machines dominated Canadian farms for almost a century—in many ways it also tells the story of Canadian agriculture. Robert Pripps, a longtime tractor aficionado, describes Massey Ferguson’s battle with Ford over dominance of the farm tractor industry—a battle the company eventually won, remarkably enough, in view of its initial abject market failure with tractors. From the company’s beginnings in 1891, to its 1953 merger with the Ferguson tractor company, to its current ownership by Allis-Gleaner Company (AGCO), Masseys have played a large role in our agricultural history. The Big Book of Massey Tractors celebrates that role and showcases the machines that have helped turn the earth for over a hundred years.

Download or read book Let Their People Come written by Lant Pritchett and published by Brookings Institution Press. This book was released on 2006-09-15 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Let Their People Come, Lant Pritchett discusses five "irresistible forces" of global labor migration, and the "immovable ideas" that form a political backlash against it. Increasing wage gaps, different demographic futures, "everything but labor" globalization, and the continued employment growth in low skilled, labor intensive industries all contribute to the forces compelling labor to migrate across national borders. Pritchett analyzes the fifth irresistible force of "ghosts and zombies," or the rapid and massive shifts in desired populations of countries, and says that this aspect has been neglected in the discussion of global labor mobility. Let Their People Come provides six policy recommendations for unskilled immigration policy that seek to reconcile the irresistible force of migration with the immovable ideas in rich countries that keep this force in check. In clear, accessible prose, this volume explores ways to regulate migration flows so that they are a benefit to both the global North and global South.
Download or read book Farm Tractor Systems written by Segun R. Bello and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-11-30 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A link between machine functionality, operations, performance and decision making in the management of power sources and field operations were presented in this book. Depreciation and functional deviation of a machine from its original state at manufacture could put the life of a machine in danger of breakdown or obsolescence, which is counted a loss to any such organization or the entrepreneur. To avoid such losses, an understanding of machine systems functionality and a well organized maintenance programme designed to maintain, prevent or restore machine to near original state is required. Vocational training and entrepreneurship education in Nigeria's tertiary institutions has made possible a do-it-yourself skill acquisition in machine fault tracking, maintenance and repairs. A bimodal training programme packaged and presented in this book is all that is required for managerial decision making, maintenance and qualitative service delivery.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By the end of the twentieth century there were some half-million tractors on British farms - more machines than people to drive them. Brian Bell's encyclopaedic book traces the evolution of the farm tractor from the days of starting handle and pan seat to current 4-wheel drive machines with air-conditioned cabs and computer management systems. He deals in particular with developments of the classic period from the 1950s to the 1990s. The book is arranged alphabetically by manufacturer from Allis-Chalmers to Zetor, one hundred marques in total. These are all machines to be found on British farms irrespective of their country of manufacture. Brian runs concisely through the histories of the companies and their major models, illustrated with a wealth of photographs and extracts from sales literature. He adds some special features on items such as hydraulic systems and cold-starting aids. He includes a glossary and full index. This book replaces the author's earlier, successful, Fifty Years of Farm Tractors. Many of the photographs are new and the text has been brought up to date to include developments of the early twenty-first century.

This book was released on 2023-01-31 with total page 826 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gurkha Army Service Corps, the predecessor of The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment, was raised in Singapore in 1958 ten years after the transfer of Gurkha regiments from the Indian Army to the British Army and towards the end of the Malayan Emergency. Within four years of being formed, it was committed to continuous operations in Brunei and Borneo during Confrontation with Indonesia between 1962-66. It was also redesignated the Gurkha Transport Regiment in 1965 to reflect changes to the Army’s logistic structure. Between 1966-71, the Regiment was substantially reduced in size, along with the rest of The Brigade of Gurkhas, as Britain withdrew its forces from East of Suez. Concentrated in Hong Kong, the Regiment provided transport support to the Garrison for the next 20 years. In 1991, a composite squadron was sent to reinforce British Forces in the Gulf War after which, in preparation for the handback of Hong Kong to China, the Regiment moved to and became permanently stationed in the UK. In recognition of its past services, it was granted the royal title ‘The Queen’s Own Gurkha Transport Regiment’ in 1992. The following two decades saw it undertake multiple operational tours to the Balkans, Iraq, Cyprus and Afghanistan as well as providing humanitarian assistance to the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone. It also expanded both its role, to incorporate supply and catering, and size, which led in 2001 to it being redesignated to its current title ‘The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment’. This history records the events and activities of the Regiment during its first 60 years of service to the Crown. While of wider interest to military historians, it is principally written for members of the Regiment, past, present and future.
