Book excerpt: Corpoica desarrolla trabajos de investigación en sistemas de cultivos anuales en el departamento del Meta; se evaluaron los sistemas de labranza, el convencional de disco y el de cinceles y la rotación de cultivos que incluyó el uso de leguminosas como cobertura se utilizó un diseño experimental de bloques al azar, con tres repeticiones se realizaron análisis físico-químicos y biológicos del suelo, se evaluaron plagas y malezas, cosecha de grano y tamo, igualmente se hizo análisis económico. Como conclusiones de de estudio se reporto: la labranza convencional y con cinceles contribuyeron a mejorar las características físico-químicas y biológicas del suelo; la rotación del arroz con la asociación maíz mas caupí, contribuyo a mejorar las características de los suelos; las leguminosas Crotalaria ochroleuca, Cannavalia ensiformis y vitabosa (Mucura deeringianum) se pueden utilizar como coberturas del suelo con los cultivos de arrozy maíz y el caupí (Vigna unguiculata) es una excelente alternativa de asociación con el maíz. Las rotaciones arroz-leguminosa como cobertura, maíz-soya y maíz-leguminosa como cobertura aumentaron la producción de grano (entre 323 y 433 Kg/ha más de arroz y entre 921 y 1094 Kg/ha más de maíz) respecto a los testigos.

Based on research in over 30 communities in selected countries in Asia (India, Nepal, Philippines, Laos, Indonesia), Africa (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ghana) and Latin America (Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Nicaragua), it examines the process and outcomes of granting new rights, assessing a variety of governance issues in implementation, access to forest products and markets and outcomes for people and forests . Forest tenure reforms have been highly varied, ranging from the titling of indigenous territories to the granting of small land areas for forest regeneration or the right to a share in timber revenues. While in many cases these rights have been significant, new statutory rights do not automatically result in rights in practice, and a variety of institutional weaknesses and policy distortions have limited the impacts of change.
