Book excerpt: Excerpt from Man, in His Relations to Society Feeling the unphilosophical nature of this subject, and the impossibility of dealing with it, without a constant war fare against absurdities and evils which ought long ere now to have been exploded, I have studiously avoided all ana lysis of the conventional regulations of society, and, indeed, all allusion to principles upon which these regulations ought to be made. Book Man In His Relationships

Download or read book Man In His Relationships written by H. Westmann and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-10-24 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is Volume VI of six in a collection on Psychology and Religion. Originally published in 1955, Man and his relationships was the theme of the tenth Present Question Conference which was held at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford in July 1954. This raised the question ‘Can both Answer and Question be found by putting one fundamental problem in the centre, towards which, like the petals of a flower, each specialized field of human knowledge gives its contribution?' This work attempts to see more clearly that the fundamental human problem of modem society is in fact the integration of diversity of experience-the bridging of the gap between specialisms.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Das Kapital of the 20th century,Society of the Spectacle is an essential text, and the main theoretical work of the Situationists. Few works of political and cultural theory have been as enduringly provocative. From its publication amid the social upheavals of the 1960's, in particular the May 1968 uprisings in France, up to the present day, with global capitalism seemingly staggering around in it’s Zombie end-phase, the volatile theses of this book have decisively transformed debates on the shape of modernity, capitalism, and everyday life in the late 20th century. This ‘Red and Black’ translation from 1977 is Introduced by Notting Hill armchair insurrectionary Tom Vague with a galloping time line and pop-situ verve, and given a more analytical over view by young upstart thinker Sam Cooper.

Book The Man Question in International Relations

Download or read book The Man Question in International Relations written by Marysia Zalewski and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-04-05 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1998, The "Man" Question in International Relations looks the prevalence of man in the world of international relations. The book argues that, focusing on women as a way of changing the gender of international relations can position women as "the problem." The authors of this book suggest that the problem is not "woman" but "man." Rather than highlighting the absences and presence of women in the theories and practices of international relations, the authors concentrate on questioning the practices of masculinities, the hegemony of men, and the subject of "man." In this way, they hope to destabilize the field in ways that "adding women and stirring" has not.

Book The Gavel and Sickle The Supreme Court Cultural Marxism and the Assault on Christianity

Download or read book The Gavel and Sickle The Supreme Court Cultural Marxism and the Assault on Christianity written by Anthony Walsh and published by Vernon Press. This book was released on 2018-01-15 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the benefits of Christianity for all, the degradation of our culture since the 1950s, the pernicious effects that cultural Marxism has had on Western cultures, and the loss of religious freedom as the Founders envisioned it due to a number of Supreme Court rulings. We cannot understand the culture war and cultural debasement until we understand cultural Marxism. Cultural Marxism has been "hiding in plain sight" since the 1930s with the immigration to the United States of a cadre of intellectuals from Germany who brought with them the folderol of critical theory, political correctness, gender neutrality, radical feminism, and moral relativism. This intellectual moonshine is designed to weaken family structure and individual morality, and it has worked. The ultimate purpose of cultural Marxism is to destroy Western civilization from within. This goal is clearly and unambiguously stated in their books and articles. In numerous places in these books and articles, cultural Marxists are adamant that if socialism is ever to come to America the two epicenters of Western morality, the family and Christianity, will have to be destroyed by slow, stealthy, and incremental attacks on them. They have been aided in their efforts by anti-Christian rulings by the United States Supreme Court since the 1940s. I do not claim in any sense that the Supreme Court is engaged in a conspiracy with cultural Marxists. Their rulings have been based on a reading of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment that its authors would not recognize, and have used this clause to eviscerate the Free Exercise Clause—America’s “first freedom.” The Court has purged Christianity from the public square, and in doing so it has unwittingly helped the cultural Marxist agenda by spiritually disarming America.
