Download or read book Albanian Rhyming Dictionary written by Leka Bezhani and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-09-21 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dictionary includes more than 31.500 words. It is based on the Albanian dictionary of standard language: ""Fjalori Drejtshkrimor i Gjuhes Shqipe"" 1981. The words are grouped based on their endings. With ""endings,"" in this dictionary, we define the last part of each word, starting from the vowel that holds the stress. The words are grouped further more in base on their classes in linguistics. Within each group the words are sorted alphabetically. For each group and subgroup there is a total count of the words of that group as well as percentages. this is one of the first times (that I'm aware of) that statistics is applied to Albanian language at this level. This dictionary is a major, indispensable tool especially useful to writers, poets, speakers, journalists, editors, politicians, and everybody that understands the impact of using the right word, in the right place. Linguists and teachers can base their studies on methodic, stylistics, and language and use this dictionary as a reference book."
Download or read book Sengoidelc written by David Stifter and published by Syracuse University Press. This book was released on 2006-06-12 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: David Stifter’s Sengoídelc (SHAN-goy-thelg) provides a comprehensive introduction to Old Irish grammar and metrics. As an introductory text to the Irish language spoken around the eighth century C.E., this essential volume, covering all aspects of the grammar in a clear and intuitive format, is ideally suited for use as a course book or as a guide for the independent learner. This handbook also will be an essential reference work for students of Indo-European philology and historical linguistics. Stifter leads the novice through the idiosyncrasies of the language, such as initial mutations and the double inflection of verbs. Filled with translation exercises based on selections from Old Irish texts, the book provides a practical introduction to the language and its rich history. Sengoídelc opens the door to the fascinating world of Old Irish literature, famous not only for the Táin Bó Cúailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cúailnge) and its lyrical nature poetry but also as a major source for the political and legal history of Ireland. Stifter’s step-by-step approach and engaging style make his book an ideal tool for both the self taught individual and the classroom environment. It will be of interest to beginning students of Old and Middle Irish, to scholars of Irish history, Celtic culture, and comparative linguistics, and to readers of Irish literature.

Download or read book The Geometry Of Spherical Space Form Groups written by Peter B Gilkey and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1989-09-01 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New Edition: The Geometry of Spherical Space Form Groups (2nd Edition)In this volume, the geometry of spherical space form groups is studied using the eta invariant. The author reviews the analytical properties of the eta invariant of Atiyah-Patodi-Singer and describes how the eta invariant gives rise to torsion invariants in both K-theory and equivariant bordism. The eta invariant is used to compute the K-theory of spherical space forms, and to study the equivariant unitary bordism of spherical space forms and the Pinc and Spinc equivariant bordism groups for spherical space form groups. This leads to a complete structure theorem for these bordism and K-theory groups. There is a deep relationship between topology and analysis with differential geometry serving as the bridge. This book is intended to serve as an introduction to this subject for people from different research backgrounds. This book is intended as a research monograph for people who are not experts in all the areas discussed. It is written for topologists wishing to understand some of the analytic details and for analysists wishing to understand some of the topological ideas. It is also intended as an introduction to the field for graduate students.

Download or read book Modeling in Ecology and Epidemiology written by Md. Shahidul Islam and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-10-23 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nature is filled with biotic organisms (bacteria, insects, plants, animals, etc.) and B-biotic elements of the environment (air, soil, and water). The life cycle of biotic elements is entirely dependent on the abiotic elements. Pathogens like viruses, bacteria, or other infectious agents can cause diseases in living creatures. The pathogens are capable of causing infectious disease directly, or they can also spread through the other multiple species (known as the Vector). Zoonosis is an infectious disease that has jumped from non-human animals to humans. Zoonotic pathogens may be bacterial, viral, or parasitic, involve unconventional agents, and can spread to humans through direct contact with food, water, or the environment. Currently, highly infectious human populations of diseases include HIV, SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19), H1N1 flu (swine flu), Dengue (Vector-borne), and so forth. Another essential feature is the pollutant of the environment (like the pesticide used for agricultural purposes and oil in the seawater) that spread among the animals through the food. Therefore, it is crucial to study infectious disease dynamics in ecological systems and human populations.
Download or read book Elastic Waves in the Earth written by Walter L. Pilant and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 506 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Elastic Waves in the Earth provides information on the relationship between seismology and geophysics and their general aspects. The book offers elastodynamic equations and derivative equations that can be used in the propagation of elastic waves. It also covers major topics in detail, such as the fundamentals of elastodynamics; the Lamb's problem, which includes the Cagniard-de Hoop theory; rays and modes in a radially inhomogeneous earth and in multilayered media, which includes the Thomson-Haskell theory; the elastic wave dissipation; the seismic source and noise; and the seismographs. The book consists of 33 chapters. The first 16 chapters include basic material related to the propagation of elastic waves. Topics covered by these chapters include scalars, vectors, and tensors in cartesian coordinates, stress and strain analysis, equations of elasticity and motion, plane waves, Rayleigh waves, plane-wave theory, and fluid-fluid and solid-solid interfaces. The second half of the book covers various ray and mode theories, elastic wave dissipation, and the observations and theories of seismic source and seismic noise. It concludes by discussing earthquake seismology and different seismographs, like the pendulum seismometer and the strain seismometer.

Download or read book Global Homotopy Theory written by Stefan Schwede and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2018-09-06 with total page 848 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Equivariant homotopy theory started from geometrically motivated questions about symmetries of manifolds. Several important equivariant phenomena occur not just for a particular group, but in a uniform way for all groups. Prominent examples include stable homotopy, K-theory or bordism. Global equivariant homotopy theory studies such uniform phenomena, i.e. universal symmetries encoded by simultaneous and compatible actions of all compact Lie groups. This book introduces graduate students and researchers to global equivariant homotopy theory. The framework is based on the new notion of global equivalences for orthogonal spectra, a much finer notion of equivalence than is traditionally considered. The treatment is largely self-contained and contains many examples, making it suitable as a textbook for an advanced graduate class. At the same time, the book is a comprehensive research monograph with detailed calculations that reveal the intrinsic beauty of global equivariant phenomena.
