Book The Lord s Table Revisited

Download or read book The Lord s Table Revisited written by Pastor Gill Belec and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-03-23 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The creative Holy Spirit of God moves (hovers, flutters) over the Lords Table typically as He did over creation (Genesis 1:12). There is a specific moment during the Communion service when a commemorative meal becomes alive with Gods power and glory. In this book you will discover riches of glory in Christ that are designed to affect your everyday life, uncover mysteries the early apostolic church experienced that empowered them to work the works of God, and learn divine principles and facts about how certain physical acts when done release spiritual dynamics that govern our lives. Many questions about the Lords Table are answered and offer clarity for solid expectation of the Table's benefits . Was Eve a type of the church? If so, where does that put the church today? What role does she have in preparation for Christs coming? Why has unity among churches remained so elusive? These and many other questions are addressed in this book, and Pastor Belec unveils a key component the church has missed out on for so long that it has, unfortunately, left her weak, anemic, and ineffective in the face of ridicule and mockery. The Lords Table Revisited is a must-read for believers in search of real faith, real witness, and a real and dynamic relationship with Christ. How did they use food and dietary laws to address major questions of identity and affiliation? In this classic work of anthropology, Prof. Gillian Feeley-Harnik examines these and other probing questions and shows how the religious symbolism of food provided a sense of community during Biblical times. This book has been praised as ¿At once a searching essay in the anthropology of food and an imaginative inquiry into the nature of religion and group identity . . . . Book excerpt: This is the second of multiple volumes we plan to publish if the Lord is willing. As I began listening to the sermons and reading the transcripts for this volume, I began to realize the practicality and the focus of Wayne as he challenges his hearers to think and to consider their actions along life's pathway. Wayne has a way of always challenging his audience. I believe all who will read the sermons in this book will find many nuggets of spiritual nourishment and find themselves facing serious spiritual questions in living for Jesus Christ. The messages are truly inspiring!

Book excerpt: Is there a super prayer language? Somebody is wrong. Either the gift of tongues was intended to be a more intimate way for us to pray, or the modern tongues movement (glossaism) is one of the greatest frauds in Christianity. In this study we defend the following: - Glossaists cannot match the biblical attributes of the gift. - The definition of "tongues" has significantly changed even in glossaism due to embarrassment, not exegesis of Scripture. - In 1 Corinthians 14, the Apostle Paul was attempting to eliminate the same pagan, counterfeit "private prayer language" version of "tongues" that is occurring today. - Glossaism has no answer for the Apostle's clear statement: "Tongues are a [miraculous] sign for unbelievers" (1 Cor 14:21). Rather, the counterfeit version today makes Christians look crazy, just as Paul warned. - The early Church testified universally to the cessation of the gift of tongues. - Legitimate explanations for the current "tongues" phenomena are alarming.
