Se presenta el avance registrado durante 1990 del Programa de Planificacion Familiar (PPF), mostrando un analisis detallado de los indicadores obtenidos en el Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), en el Instituto de Seguridad Social al Servicio de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), en el Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF), y de la Secretaria de Salud (SSA). De enero a diciembre de 1990 se registro el ingreso de 1,983,604 aceptantes del PPF en el SNS; de cada cien usuarios nuevos, 68 se captaron en las clinicas del IMSS, 25 en la SSA, 6 en las del ISSSTE y 1 en el DIF, esto se refiere a nuevos aceptantes. En cuanto a logros de usuarios activos por institucion, ha tenido un avance constante en cada una de las instituciones del SNS, en los ultimos 6 anos se ha registrado un incremento superior a 53%, ya que en 1984 se tenian aproximadamente 3.8 millones de usuarios activos y al finalizar 1990 la cifra ascendio a 5.8 millones. De cada cien de estos usuarios, 68 se registraron en el IMSS, 22 en la SSA, 9 en el ISSSTE y 1 en el DIF. El total de consultas que se otorgaron en el SNS durante 1990 fueron 6,696,663, que fueron hechas por el personal medico y de enfermeria para atender a los usuarios de metodos anticonceptivos.
