Book Leucocyte Typing V

Download or read book Leucocyte Typing V written by Stuart F. Schlossman and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1995 with total page 924 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the state of the art of monoclonal antibodies that react with molecules on the surface of human leucocytes, platelets, or enothelial cells, and will be a key source of information describing the present state of our knowledge of human leucocyte differentation antigens. The fifth International Workshop and Conference on Human Leucocyte Differentiation Antigens was held in Boston on November 3-7, 1993. Those present at the meeting represented the efforts of more than 500 laboratories worldwide who joined together over a two year period to analyze 1450 antibodies and characterize over 150 molecules. Blind panels for all monoclonal antibodies including every CD, every noncandidate for CD status and all monoclonals of undefined specificity were analyzed by flow cytometry. Other dedicated laboratories undertook serologic molecular, biochemical, histochemical characterization of the monoclonal antibodies and structures they defined. The results obtained in Boston are detailed in this two volume set. Special emphasis is given in the book to the description and characterization of 48 new CD clusters and subclusters and the redefinition of 14 previously defined established clusters.

They explore propagation of signaling cascades through second messengers and serine/threonine kinases, the initiation of signaling from the B and T cell antigen receptors by tyrosine phosphorylation and protein recruitment, and the role of signaling in cell-cell interactions and the regulation of the cell cycle. The book outlines the relationship of receptor signaling to inflammatory reactions of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages.
