King at Qualla Town post office in North Carolina was written to inform Mr. King that his claims except for one had already been taken into consideration by the Commissioners. Thomas told King that if the Commissioners decided in favor of the claim, he would return home immediately but if they did not decide in favor of the claim, he would appeal directly to the Secretary of War. Thomas asked King to inform the Cherokees of all of this and to tell his mother that he was well. A duplicate of this letter was also sent to JW King in Murphy.
