Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For fans of Lyssa Kay Adams and Jen DeLuca comes this fresh, funny take on second chances that proves love is anything but trivial. For family-focused Charlotte, the chance to compete on her favorite trivia game show is a dream come true—the prize money could ensure the best care for her aging grandmother. But when she arrives on set, who does she see among the other contestants? Eli, her high school first love, at least until their shattering breakup. He has his own reasons for competing, not least of which is the stress of multiple jobs, college courses, and a father who has had multiple run-ins with the law. When the casting department pairs them on a team, both Charlotte and Eli are determined to grit their teeth and make the best of it. That’s easier said than done, of course, and before long a national audience is breathlessly watching them bicker and air years-old grudges. Far from being angry, the program’s producers are ecstatic—the ratings are positively soaring. As they compete together over several episodes of the show, Charlotte and Eli begin to suspect that old wounds might actually heal. Touring L.A. in their free time has given them the opportunity to get to know each other again—and reawakened feelings that are hard to resist. Until the show’s producers throw a wrench in their hopeful plans that will compromise everything Charlotte and Eli have worked so hard for. Kelly Ohlert’s warm, witty second novel proves that the best thing to know is always your own heart.

Book Tower of Hanoi Mathematical Rules

Download or read book Tower of Hanoi Mathematical Rules written by Jung oh Choi and published by 최중오. This book was released on 2020-07-09 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tower of Hanoi is a simple mathematical puzzle that finds the minimum number of moves to move all discs to another peg(column) under two conditions. But in Tower of Hanoi, which looks simple, you can find various mathematical rules. Also you can create some Transformed Tower of Hanoi by adding moving conditions of the disc or by increasing the number of pegs. I want to stress that finding rules and expressing them logically are different. Of course, you can only express the rules if you can find the rules of movement of the disc. Therefore, you should not stop by discovering the rules of the disc, but consider how to express the rules you have found. There are many other rules to be found in Tower of Hanoi besides the minimum number of movements. You can also know the minimum number of movements in which each disc has moved or you can explore the rules using binary. To do this, you must be able to understand and express ‘the rules of sequence’. If you can explore the rules of Tower of Hanoi, then you can also explore Transformed Tower of Hanoi. But you don’t have to rush. This is because you need to know the difficult sequence of rules, including recurrence formula, to explore Transformed Tower of Hanoi.

Since its invention and standardized as ANSI C, several other standards known as C99, C11, and C17 were published with new features in subsequent years. This book covers all the traits of ANSI C and includes new features present in other standards. The content of this book helps a beginner to learn the fundamental concept of the C language. More emphasis is given to the topics like Functions, Pointers, and Structures. Recursion is emphasized with numerous programming examples and diagrams. A separate chapter on the command-line argument and preprocessors is included that concisely explains their usage. Several real-life figures are taken to explain the concepts of dynamic memory allocation, file handling, and the difference between structure and union. Book Call TV quiz shows

    Book Details:
  • Author : Great Britain: Parliament: House of Commons: Culture, Media and Sport Committee
  • Publisher : The Stationery Office
  • Release : 2007-01-25
  • ISBN : 0215032241
  • Pages : 156 pages

Download or read book Call TV quiz shows written by Great Britain: Parliament: House of Commons: Culture, Media and Sport Committee and published by The Stationery Office. This book was released on 2007-01-25 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Call TV quiz shows are an example of television programmes provided by commercial broadcasters in order to increase their revenue. The viewer watches the live broadcast, then sends a text message or makes a premium rate telephone call in order to take part, with the broadcaster keeping a proportion of the call revenue. The Culture Committee has decided to examine this development, and whether some form of regulation is required since the programmes seem to be another means of gambling, with some members of the public complaining about them. This report therefore has set out a number of recommendations as to how broadcasters and regulators should address this. The Committee states that there seems to be a lack of fairness and transparency throughout the process. For example, players are generally not told that it is a matter of luck whether a call is connected to the studio and that the chances of getting through are very slim. Also the cost of calling is not always made as clear as it might be, or the amount players might have to spend to win a prize. Primary responsibility for maintaining confidence in the Call TV quiz show format rests with the operating companies and the broadcasters. The Committee believes that the guidance drawn up by the two main regulators, Ofcom and ICSTIS does not go far enough; the Committee also states that Call TV quiz shows should constitute gaming under the Gambling Act 2005, and the Culture Department and the Gambling Commission should consider this as a matter of urgency; operators should have voluntarily introduced practices intended to help viewers who make repeated premium rate calls appreciate how much they are spending; also some assessment of the addiction to participation in such shows should be undertaken; viewers should be made aware that puzzles on Call TV quiz shows have a cryptic element, and that Ofcom should make it obligatory to have games verified with a third party and solutions lodged with them to prevent underhand changes being made while the show is on air; Ofcom should also publish periodic reports on its monitoring of Call TV quiz programmes; any practice of misleading viewers about call volumes or of blocking of calls would be unfair and fraudulent and should be punished under criminal law; the Committee recommends that broadcasters should be required to display some recent historical information about volume of incoming calls, and the odds of being connected to the studio; also that a single body, Ofcom, take responsibility for registering all complaints.
