Book On Both Sides of the Street

Download or read book On Both Sides of the Street written by Margery Wolfe and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-12-30 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The devil hates us so much. He tries anything to the body, but he can't touch the soul. That's why I keep my body under subjection. I learned his tactics over the years. We have to watch those spirits and rebuke them as Jesus did. When he taught the disciples it was a spiritual teaching in the flesh, that's how they understood spiritual things. With Paul, the teaching from the beginning was spiritual in the Spirit. He understood spiritual things spiritually. He understood the spiritual connotations of life and godliness. Jesus taught the disciples, Christ taught Paul. He learned spiritual things spiritually where he applied everything natural to God and the Word. Jesus taught the disciples how to apply spiritual things to the natural understanding. With Paul, he lost sight of the world that he saw only Jesus. No one with him at the time of his conversion saw Jesus Christ, but they heard someone speaking. Paul saw and heard; in Christ, we see him and hear him. In the church, without the Holy Ghost, we only hear the Word, but is never able to see or understand what he is saying until we receive all of him. He is the Word lived. We are living souls that also live in the body that need the Word spoken that the Holy Ghost hears and make us alive again. We become lively stoneswe hear and obey the Word because the Spirit makes it alive to us. Better get a deeper perspective!

Book Let s Get Frank

Download or read book Let s Get Frank written by Robin Brunet and published by Douglas & McIntyre. This book was released on 2018-02-17 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Frank Palmer is a legend in the Canadian advertising world. He not only developed Palmer Jarvis, one of the country’s most acclaimed marketing communications agencies (and then became chairman and CEO of DDB Canada after selling Palmer Jarvis to the multinational ad giant), he is also credited with changing the face of Canadian advertising. “He’s the only Western Canadian ad man who went to Toronto and wound up owning the town,” says former employee and now friendly rival Chris Staples. Fellow ad man Bob Bryant elaborates, “What Frank also did that no other agency owner was able to do was become a star. No one else personified a company the way he did. He became the iconic brand of his own business.” Palmer has earned a reputation for obtaining clients at any cost. He has clawed his way to prominence with wit, an uncanny knowledge of what constitutes effective advertising, and a business acumen nothing short of encyclopedic. Having started out as the boy last chosen for the baseball team by his peers, he set his sights on living his life in the role of the chooser—not the one waiting to be chosen. Palmer is a fascinating study in contrasts. Though he always took his role as an employer seriously, at times his private life was a mess. And while his bald head and thick neck give him the look of someone you wouldn’t want to encounter on a dark street, he’s a notorious trickster—be it by placing an octopus under a colleague’s pillow or lacing a friend’s coffee cup with dental anaesthesia. At the same time, Palmer is almost as well known for his philanthropic work as for his business acuity and practical jokes. In this lively biography, Robin Brunet captures the exhilarating experience of being in the presence of such a charismatic and driven man. Brunet’s wealth of interviews with the man himself and those who know him best get to the root of what it means to be Frank Palmer.

Book excerpt: James Maddox's action packed novel, Lake Pan, reveals some of the knowledge that he has picked up during forty years of recreational fishing, and a fair amount of that time was fishing for sharks in his hometown area of Pinellas County, Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico. Jim as his friends called him encountered bull sharks and other coastal species such as lemon and hammerhead on shark fishing forays along the coast and in Tampa Bay. His love for the outdoors is shown in the detailed descriptions of how the lake animals carry on their daily lives and how short some of those lives can be. By merging together actual happenings that he has experienced or witnessed, to the fictional part of the story he creates an atmosphere of suspense and realism that the reader should enjoy.

Book Open Space Technology

Download or read book Open Space Technology written by Harrison Owen and published by ReadHowYouWant.com. This book was released on 2009-03 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, like all books, comes to an end, but that is by no means the end of the story of Open Space. In fact it is safe to say that we have barely begun. The total simplicity of Open Space (sit in a circle, create a bulletin board, open a marketplace, and go to work) contrasts radically with the quality of results and speed of achievement. The conventional theory and practice of meeting and organization would suggest that what happens in Open Space should not occur. But it does, not once but thousands of times in all parts of the world. So the continuing story of Open Space is all about this wonderful anomaly. Why does it work? How does it work? And perhaps most intriguing - if "it" works in Open Space (whatever "it" is) why couldn't it work twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year? My best guess is that the "it" is the primal power of self-organization, and if so the real significance of Open Space has little to do with better meetings, and everything to do with a deepening understanding of who we really are and how we might most effectively get on in this world. But all of that is an unfolding story and, as I would see it, a wonderful, ongoing natural experiment. And you are invited to participate. ---- Harrison Owen, Camden, Maine

Book Open Space Technology

Download or read book Open Space Technology written by Harrison H Owen and published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers. This book was released on 2008-04-28 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Open Space Technology: A User’s Guide is just what the name implies: a hands-on, detailed description of facilitating Open Space Technology (OST). OST is an effective, economical, fast, and easily repeatable strategy for organizing meetings of between 5 and 2,000 participants that has been used in thousands of organizations in 134 countries and just keeps growing in popularity. Written by the originator of the method, this is the most authoritative book on the rationale, procedures, and requirements of OST. OST enables self-organizing groups of all sizes to deal with hugely complex issues in a very short period of time. This step-by-step user’s guide details what needs to be done before, during, and after an Open Space event. Harrison Owen details all the practical considerations necessary to create Open Space. He begins with the most important question—should you use Open Space at all?—and examines what types of situations are appropriate for Open Space Technology and what types are not. He then goes on to look at nuts-and-bolts issues such as supplies, logistics, and who should come and how you should go about getting them there. This third edition adds a survey of the current status of Open Space Technology around the world, an updated section on the latest available technology for report writing (a key aspect of the Open Space process), and an updated list of resources.
