According to the American School Bus Council, 26 million students ride a school bus every day. School bus drivers across the country are entrusted with the care and safety of more than 25 million children as they are transported to and from school and school-related activities. School buses provide 10 billion annual student rides. Each school bus carries fifty to sixty-five passengers per route, per school. Most drivers have three daily pickup routes in the morning and afternoons. The first route picks up elementary school children, the second route picks up middle school children, and the third route picks up high schoolers.

Book excerpt: Get ready for the ride of your life through the eyes and ears of a school bus driver! The majority of parents, grandparents and guardians, have no idea of what goes on inside the school bus. I have been a school bus driver for nearly 20 years, and I have experienced some of the funniest and craziest situations from all of my kids over the years. I have also witnessed some of the saddest, heartbreaking situations as well. Most school districts have 188 school days a year and that is plenty of time to get acquainted with my students, listening and learning a lot about them and their families. I hope you will read my book and laugh and cry along with me, while you get a glimpse of what is it like from inside the school bus.

Book Kingdom Principles from the Driver s Seat

Download or read book Kingdom Principles from the Driver s Seat written by Abigael Akintola and published by Brandives. This book was released on 2023-03-23 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God uses storylines and life's experiences to illustrate principles of the Kingdom and because stories resonate with humans, they bring knowledge using what we can relate with. Have you ever wondered why Jesus used proverbs to describe the principles and concepts of the Kingdom? I believe it's because stories are relatable and teach us complex concepts in simple ways. Many times when I am on the road while driving or in a car, God shares some vital life lessons and Kingdom principles with me, illustrating them using rules and regulations on driving on the road, perhaps because life itself is a journey. This book is a chronicle of some of what I have been taught while at the driver's seat. The book was written according to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the revelation of God's Word. Each chapter of the book defines and illustrates some important concepts in the Christian journey with short stories that we can relate to. These topics include faith, wisdom, spiritual sensitiveness, safety, obedience to, and reflection on God's Word.

Book Don t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table

Download or read book Don t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table written by Louie Giglio and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Louie Giglio helps you find encouragement, hope, and strength in the midst of any valley as you reject the enemy voices of fear, rage, lust, insecurity, anxiety, despair, temptation, or defeat. Scripture is clear: the Enemy is a liar who will stop at nothing to tempt you into poor decisions and self-defeating mindsets, making you feel afraid, angry, anxious, or defeated. It is all too easy for Satan to weasel his way into a seat at the table intended for only you and your King. But you can fight back. Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table outlines the ways to overcome those lies so you can find peace and security in any challenging circumstance or situation. With the same bold, exciting approach to Scripture as employed in Goliath Must Fall and his other previous works, pastor Louie Giglio examines Psalm 23 in fresh ways, highlighting verse 5: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." You can find freedom from insecurity, temptation, and defeat--if you allow Jesus, the Shepherd, to lead the battle for your mind and heart. This spiritual warfare book for those who are leery of spiritual warfare books will resonate with Louie's core Passion tribe as well as with Christians of all ages who want to live a triumphant life in God.

Book A Thousand Small Sanities

Download or read book A Thousand Small Sanities written by Adam Gopnik and published by Basic Books. This book was released on 2019-05-14 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A stirring defense of liberalism against the dogmatisms of our time from an award-winning and New York Times bestselling author. Not since the early twentieth century has liberalism, and liberals, been under such relentless attack, from both right and left. The crisis of democracy in our era has produced a crisis of faith in liberal institutions and, even worse, in liberal thought. A Thousand Small Sanities is a manifesto rooted in the lives of people who invented and extended the liberal tradition. Taking us from Montaigne to Mill, and from Middlemarch to the civil rights movement, Adam Gopnik argues that liberalism is not a form of centrism, nor simply another word for free markets, nor merely a term denoting a set of rights. It is something far more ambitious: the search for radical change by humane measures. Gopnik shows us why liberalism is one of the great moral adventures in human history -- and why, in an age of autocracy, our lives may depend on its continuation.
