Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with corporate mergers and acquisitions by analyzing the financial and strategic aspects. It starts with a chronological justification of the evolution of external growth operations and ends with case studies in order to put into practice the theoretical contribution of the previous titles. Through this book, we wish to detail the types of mergers and acquisitions, their modes, their motivations, their consequences and their performances. First of all, we propose a panoply of scientific research, methodological explanations and logical structuring to expose a subject of experience considered for a long time as a phenomenon in finance. Then, through a sample of 90 mergers or acquisitions, we analyze the effects of these transactions on French companies.

Book Strategies for Sustainable Technologies and Innovations

Download or read book Strategies for Sustainable Technologies and Innovations written by John R. McIntyre and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ÔThere is no debate about the fact that a Òbusiness as usualÓ approach is an environmentally unsustainable one. Given the magnitude of the environmental challenges the world faces today, extensive changes in corporate strategies and significant innovation advances are absolutely necessary if we are to avoid substantial decreases in our quality of living. This set of internationally recognized authors provides some fresh and informative perspectives on this topic along with a path for a more sustainable future.Õ Ð Mark Ferguson, University of South Carolina, US Corporations across the world are becoming increasingly aware of the threat of environmental degradation and the growing importance of sustainable business practices. This raises a vital question: How can for-profit firms (and other profit-conscious enterprises such as government organizations) implement more environmentally friendly policies without sacrificing profitability? This innovative volume tackles that complex question, offering detailed recommendations for making strategic technological choices that are economically advantageous, ecologically sustainable and socially responsible. Expert contributions examine the contextual factors that affect implementation of more sustainable technology and innovation practices, offering a number of empirical methodologies to describe and explain these multidimensional influences. What emerges is a compelling argument in favor of balanced strategies that merge profitability concerns with ecological consciousness, allowing for controlled sustainable development and stable, long-term economic success. Discussion of companies in both developed and emerging countries makes this book useful on a truly global scale. Students and professors of business, management studies and economics will find much to admire in this path-breaking volume. Managers, policymakers and other practitioners will also benefit greatly from this bookÕs timely and insightful recommendations.

Book SME Internationalization Strategies

Download or read book SME Internationalization Strategies written by Noémie Dominguez and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-03-15 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Internationalization is a strategic issue for companies as it is today the central axis for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Market expansion and the growing importance of emerging markets offer new development opportunities for SMEs to use innovative strategies - such as head-deck strategies - to effectively penetrate these markets. This book focuses on understanding these new strategies. Why do SMEs use head-of-bridge strategies in order to internationalize? How do they deploy such strategies abroad? Based on the example of five manufacturing SMEs, which are at different stages of internationalization, this book highlights the main motivations, stages of deployment but also difficulties encountered in this direction. This book is a tool for assessing potential locations and provide managers with a new alternative in terms of internationalization, enabling rapid identification of key stakeholders, adapting their international development plan and anticipating potential pitfalls.

Book L industrialisation en Afrique subsaharienne

Download or read book L industrialisation en Afrique subsaharienne written by Kaleb G. Abreha and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2022-06-23 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Corporate Governance and CSR Strategies for Sustainability

Download or read book Corporate Governance and CSR Strategies for Sustainability written by Pucelj, Maja and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2024-04-09 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fundamental link between human rights and sustainability still needs to be more adequately understood in a world grappling with a complex social environment that needs to be challenged. This knowledge gap has far-reaching repercussions, leading to unsustainable practices, social inequality, and environmental degradation. Addressing this pressing issue requires a comprehensive understanding of how human rights principles can underpin sustainable development and socially responsible behavior. Corporate Governance and CSR Strategies for Sustainability offers a transformative solution by providing a deep and interdisciplinary exploration of the nexus between human rights, sustainability, and social responsibility. Drawing from diverse fields such as law, social sciences, economics, and environmental studies, it illuminates the foundational role of human rights in shaping sustainable and socially responsible societies. By dissecting topics like the rights of marginalized groups, business impacts on human rights, and policy frameworks for sustainability, it provides a roadmap for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to navigate these complex issues.

Book Canada Can Compete

Download or read book Canada Can Compete written by Joseph R. D'Cruz and published by IRPP. This book was released on 1985 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the back cover: Canada can compete in international markets, but not, the authors contend, under the present national economic strategy. Policies that redistribute income and allocate resources through government fiat have weakended Canada's ability to transform its manufacturing sector to meet the new competititve challenges. D'Cruz and Fleck compare the performance of seventy-one Canadian industries from 1967 to 1981 with industries in Japan, the United States, Britain and France. To enhance the competitiveness of Canadian manufacturing, the authors propose a differential industrial strategy, one that emphasizes growth and development. Government, they say, must play a "hands-off" role in Canada's market economy, limiting itself to establishing the rules of the game. The authors recommend, in addition, macro-economic policies that would reduce the federal deficit, restrain wages for public servants, preserve low differentials between Canadian and American interest rates, and maintain the Canadian dollar at 70 cents U.S.
