Download or read book LES RELIGIONS DES ETUDIANTS written by Antoine Delestre and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 1997-01-01 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Avec ou sans Dieu written by Pierre-Jean Brassac and published by Editions Autrement. This book was released on 2005 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Conversion in the Age of Pluralism

Download or read book Conversion in the Age of Pluralism written by Giuseppe Giordan and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2009 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theme of conversion constitutes a privileged point to study the framework linking an individual to the sociocultural contexts in which he or she is included. Changes in personal biographies and sociocultural change are interwoven when we speak of conversion: values, speech, norms, behaviors, beliefs, lifestyles, interests--everything is open to potential debate when an individual "converts." Conversion is especially developed here through a connection with the dynamics of pluralism, which appears to be the most peculiar cultural characteristic of our era: what does it mean to speak of "conversion" in a time in which it seems that the presumption of only one "true" truth no longer exists, while instead many different truths live together, each with its own judgment criteria.

Book Exercices d histoire des religions

Download or read book Exercices d histoire des religions written by Philippe Borgeaud and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2016-05-18 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exercices d’histoire des religions is a collection of the most important articles published by Philippe Borgeaud during his career as the professor of history of religions at the University of Geneva (Switzerland). These nineteen studies showcase the many reflections of the Swiss scholar of religion on the categories and tools used to describe and compare such evanescent concepts as “religions”, “myths” and “rituals”, and his methodology for a critical and comparative study of ancient and modern religions. Through them, readers will gain a clear understanding of the importance such an approach can wield in the contemporary discussions and dissents about religions.

Book Libraries at the Heart of Dialogue of Cultures and Religions

Download or read book Libraries at the Heart of Dialogue of Cultures and Religions written by Thierry-Marie Courau and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2016-06-22 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From antiquity until the present, libraries have served to witness cultural and religious exchanges between civilizations. A number of famous libraries have often acted as the cornerstones of the history of humankind in all its diversity. In 2014, in addition to the world congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), satellite meetings were held in Paris. The theme of these meetings was “Libraries at the Heart of Dialogue of Cultures and Religions”. The presentations centred around three aspects: “Religious Libraries and History,” “Anticipating and Facing Urgent Issues,” and “New Technologies and Networking to Solve Some Issues.” The publication of these proceedings allows to draw up a panorama of the questions raised by these themes, highlight some initiatives, and offer solutions or lines of thought to professionals and Library and Information Science students.

Download or read book Les religions dans l enseignement la que written by Mireille Estivalezes and published by PUF. This book was released on 2015-12-31T00:00:00+01:00 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Religiosity on University Campuses in Africa

Download or read book Religiosity on University Campuses in Africa written by Abdoulaye Sounaye and published by LIT Verlag. This book was released on 2023-08-29 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume examines religiosity on university campuses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Focusing on both individuals and organized groups, the contributions open a window onto how religion becomes a factor, affects social interactions, is experienced and mobilized by various actors. It brings together case studies from various disciplinary backgrounds (anthropology, sociology, history, religious studies, literature) and theoretical orientations to illustrate the significance of religiosity in recent developments on university campuses. It pays a particular attention to religion-informed activism and contributes a fresh analysis of processes that are shaping both the experience of being student and the university campus as a moral space. Last but not least, it sheds light onto the ways in which the campus becomes a site of a reformulation of both religiosity and sociality.

Book A World of Diversity

Book excerpt: "This book guides students to complete the revised (2023-2027) Victorian Certificate of Education study of Religion and Society Unit 1. Its teaching and learning sequence is developed around the areas of study and outcomes of the Study Design with a focus on three key study areas: the nature and purpose of religion; religion through the ages; religion in Australia. Students are provided with a wide range of learning activities and assessment tasks through which they may engage critically with the content, and demonstrate key knowledge and skills in the outcomes. As the title suggests, it is intended to introduce students to the diverse world of religions, past and present, and the role religions have played in the development of society. Students will encounter evidence of religions found in archaeological remains, and study religions of prehistory revealing the earliest forms of human spirituality and religious literacy. These site studies include, Gobekli Tepe, Lascaux cave paintings, and Stonehenge. There is an extensive study of the ancient religions of Sumer, Greece and Rome. An examination of the religious expression of Hinduism and Buddhism and the Abrahamic religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam is thoroughly presented. In addition, the book will inspect the collective identity and personal meaning expressed by the religions of the first Australians through the relevant aspects of religions, as well as a study of the religions that have made Australia a multi-religious nation. Various Government policies that have influenced and impacted the religious composition in Australia will also be explored. As students use this book it is hoped that they not only successfully complete the unit Religion and Society Unit 1 but they may also grow in their recognition and appreciation of the diversity of religions in their schools, neighbourhood and global societies. It is also hoped that students will appreciate the role of religion in shaping and giving meaning to individuals and communities, and recognise how religions provide answers to questions about the nature and purpose of existence." -- Publisher website.
