Les communications réunies dans cet ouvrage retracent ces débats et leur spécification en France, en Belgique, en Italie, au Japon, aux Pays-Bas, en RFA, au Royaume-Uni et aux États-Unis. Mettant toutes en évidence les contributions que les PME pourraient apporter à la résorption du chômage, ces communications prolongent la discussion au niveau de la politique économique. Les problèmes des fonds propres, des effets de seuil ou des comportements bancaires y sont alors avancés comme principaux freins au dynamisme des PME et comme enjeux pour une nouvelle politique économique.
