Book excerpt: Les études théoriques menées sur le sujet ont mis en avant deux grands motifs de la pratique de gestion des risques au sein des entreprises : la protection des intérêts des dirigeants et la création de la valeur pour l'entreprise. Dans le premier cas, les dirigeants décident de la gestion des risques en fonction de leur degré d'aversion pour le risque. Dans le second cas, les managers sont incités à optimiser la création de la valeur pour l'entreprise en adoptant une attitude prudente envers le risque. En partant de cette littérature, ce travail de recherche traite trois questions différentes. Premièrement, il s'intéresse aux caractéristiques financières des entreprises non-financières et aux aspects de gouvernement d'entreprises françaises qui peuvent significativement expliquer l'utilisation des produits dérivés. Deuxièmement, il examine l'effet de l'utilisation des produits dérivés à des fins de couverture sur l'environnement informationnel de l'entreprise, notamment sur la qualité des prévisions des analystes financiers. Troisièmement, il étudie l'effet des fluctuations du taux de change sur la rentabilité des entreprises françaises.

The work on cost-effectiveness analysis has developed integrated economic and ecological models, relying extensively on fuzzy logic procedures to model impacts and effects of interventions within the reef environment. By contrast, the marine system valuation work provides economic valuations of coral reefs, demonstrating the use of different modeling methods and treating key policy issues within this context.
