Elles correspondent le plus souvent à des formes aigues, liées à des germes virulents. Leur présentation clinique est variée et non spécifique, représentant un challenge diagnostique. Leur traitement est bien défini concernant l'antibiothérapie. Par contre, les indications chirurgicales sont plus floues et discutées.
