Book Blanchiment d argent et secret bancaire

Download or read book Blanchiment d argent et secret bancaire written by Paolo Bernasconi and published by Springer. This book was released on 1996 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contains thirteen national reports and the general report on Money Laundering and Banking Secrecy. The reports were written for the XIVth Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law which was held in 1994 in Athens, Greece. As narcotics trafficking exploded in the 1980s, it was realized that money laundering had become a threat to the entire integrity of the financial system. The international trend to regard money laundering as a serious threat to the stability of democracy and the rule of law found expression in the adoption of the 1988 United Nations Drugs Convention. Gradually, the international community diverged from its traditional, narrow approach whereby only the laundering of drug proceeds was considered a threat. In order to combat money laundering efficiently, it soon became clear that criminal law was not sufficient and that it was necessary for banks and other financial institutions to co-operate with law enforcement agencies. The banking community is now obliged to report suspicious transactions, which they often regard as going beyond their role as bankers. The issue of bank secrecy has played an important role in the discussion between law enforcement agencies and the banking community. Both the Council of Europe Convention on Laundering Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and the UN Drugs Convention require that bank secrecy should not be an obstacle to international co-operation. At the national level the seizure of bank records should not be hindered by bank secrecy.

This book was released on 2024-02-07 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together scholarly contributions to question, model, and reshape translatology as the scientific discipline studying language translation. The chapters emphasize the hypothesis of a real domain of observability and objectivity through experimental and applied perspectives. The authors offer a balanced view of adequacy and coherence between the empirical and theoretical components of the book. The chapters include a good deal of individual language data from both source and target approaches, with a focus on typologically and culturally diverse spaces such as the African context. Domains of inquiry such as terminology and the cognitive dimension of the process exemplify the ability to create a dialogue between multidisciplinary intersections and translatological attempts of laws and generalizations.

Download or read book Liability of Corporate Groups Autonomy and Control in Parent Subsidiary Relationships in U S German and EEC Law An International and Comparative Perspective written by José Engrácia Antunes and published by Springer. This book was released on 1994-05-11 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Full Title: Liability of Corporate Groups: Autonomy and control in Parent-Subsidiary Relationships in US, German and EU Law, An International and Comparative Perspective. Corporation law dates from the 19th century when the growth of business enterprise required a division between the private and the company sphere, making the company a legal person with its own rights, responsibilities and liabilities. The company was no longer the legal equivalent of its owner but became a separate legal entity, providing a form of legal protection for the owners, employees and the customers. The introduction of company law meant a great step forward for those engaged in big business in Europe, the U.S. and elsewhere.
