Book Lecture Notes on Solution Chemistry

Download or read book Lecture Notes on Solution Chemistry written by Viktor Gutmann and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book emphasises those features in solution chemistry which are difficult to measure, but essential for the understanding of both the qualitative and the quantitative aspects. Attention is paid to the mutual influences between solute and solvent, even at extremely small concentrations of the former. The described extension of the molecular concept leads to a broad view ? not by a change in paradigm ? but by finding the rules for the organizations both at the molecular and the supermolecular level of liquid and solid solutions.

Book Lecture Notes On Fullerene Chemistry A Handbook For Chemists

Download or read book Lecture Notes On Fullerene Chemistry A Handbook For Chemists written by Roger Taylor and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999-02-25 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fullerenes, hailed as one of the discoveries of the century, have created whole new fields of organic/organometallic chemistry and of physics. Together with the related nanotubes, they hold the promise of providing new materials with novel chemical and solid state properties. The cost of the basic fullerenes is now such that research into them is feasible for very many chemists. This book describes the fundamental aspects of fullerene chemistry. Following brief background on the discovery, basic fullerene nomenclature, and relevant properties (including those of endohedral fullerenes and nanotubes), there are chapters describing the rules governing the addition patterns, and each of the reaction types with representative examples. Leading references are given to key papers describing individual reactions and phenomena.

Book Annual Reports in Computational Chemistry

Download or read book Annual Reports in Computational Chemistry written by David Spellmeyer and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2011-09-22 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annual Reports in Computational Chemistry is a new periodical providing timely and critical reviews of important topics in computational chemistry as applied to all chemical disciplines. Topics covered include quantum chemistry, molecular mechanics, force fields, chemical education, and applications in academic and industrial settings. Each volume is organized into (thematic) sections with contributions written by experts. Focusing on the most recent literature and advances in the field, each article covers a specific topic of importance to computational chemists. Annual Reports in Computational Chemistry is a 'must' for researchers and students wishing to stay up-to-date on current developments in computational chemistry. In Volume 3, topics covered include Simulation Methodologies (Carlos Simmerling), Biological and Biophysical Applications (Heather Carlson), Chemical Education (Theresa Zielinski), Materials and Polymers (Jeffry Madura), Quantum Chemistry (T. Daniel Crawford), and Emerging Technologies (Wendy Cornell). With this volume we extend the practice of cumulative indexing of both the current and past editions in order to provide easy identification of past reports.* Broad coverage of computational chemistry and up-to-date information* Topics covered include quantum chemistry, molecular mechanics, force fields, chemical education, and applications in academic and industrial settings* Each chapter reviews the most recent literature on a specific topic of interest to computational chemists

Download or read book Dispersive Kinetics written by Andrzej Plonka and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dynamical processes in which many timescales coexist are called dispersive. The rate coefficients for dispersive processes depend on time. In the case of a chemical reaction, the time dependence of the rate coefficient, k(t), termed the specific reaction rate, is rationalized in the following way. Reactions by their very nature have to disturb reactivity distributions of the reactants in condensed media, as the more reactive species are the first ones to disappear from the system. The extent of this disturbance depends on the ratio of the rates of reactions to the rate of internal rearrangements (mixing) in the system restoring the initial distribution in reactivity of reactants. If the rates of chemical reactions exceed the rates of internal rearrangements, then the initial distributions in reactant reactivity are not preserved during the course of reactions and the specific reaction rates depend on time. Otherwise the extent of disturbance is negligible and classical kinetics, with a constant specific reaction rate, k, termed the reaction rate constant, may be valid as an approximation. In condensed media dispersive dynamical processes are endemic and this is the first monograph devoted to these processes.
