En la tercera parte (El Derecho de la Unión Europea y su aplicación) se da cuenta del Derecho de la Unión Europea, originario y derivado, y sus procesos de elaboración y aplicación, incluida la garantía judicial de su cumplimiento, con particular énfasis en la aplicación en España. Y en la cuarta parte («La realización de los objetivos de la Unión Europea») se introduce el mercado interior y sus libertades fundamentales, una breve reseña de las otras políticas y acciones de la Unión y, con más detalle, el espacio de libertad, seguridad y justicia y la acción exterior de la Unión.
