Book How Does Intuition Work

Download or read book How Does Intuition Work written by IntroBooks Team and published by IntroBooks. This book was released on with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intuition is a phenomenon that offers people the ability to know something instinctively without adopting analytical thought, striking a balance between human mind's conscious and unconscious components, as well as between intuition and intent. Human disconcert is founded on centuries of social bias with the notion of focusing on intuition. In the age of big data, it might seem like a subterfuge or inadequate process to rely on intuition what others consider spirit, instinct, a sixth sense, or a gut feeling. But according to a study of high-level executives, most business pioneers take advantage of their experiences and feelings when coping with challenges. And despite appearances, intuition is not an unconventional term specifically reserved for the realm of self-elating emotion. In reality, there is a neurological foundation for it. When one understands intuition oriented science and how ideas can be affected, he can decide more readily when it is better to go with the gut feeling and when it is better to look at available data.

Download or read book Business Statistics written by Gopal Chaudhuri and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-10-24 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book Business Statistics using R is grown out of my teaching experience over a decade at reputed institutes including Indian Institute Managements at Ahmedabd and Kozhikode and School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology at Bangkok. The quantitative techniques discussed in Business Statistics using R help the reader easily master the underlying concepts of fundamental Statistical Methods. The data analysis is performed with the open source R language that can be installed in the readers' computer without effort. The book, giving explicit details, is also suitable for self-study. In my book I have used R extensively and R is available free online. A systematic development of statistical procedures is done in the book with real-life cases in the form of examples---this will help the reader grasp the essentials of statistical tools in order to be successful in the future courses of MBA and advanced data analytic career in particular. This is an era of Data Science. In this field, a sound knowledge of basic statistical concepts coupled with appropriate statistical software like R is a must.A number of books on Business Statistics exist in the market; but they mostly fail to address the statistical depth a reader needs in order to apply the technique in a variety of different practical situations. The problem is aggravated while actually doing the data analysis with statistical software like Excel; we know how tedious it is to draw a histogram using Excel. One can do statistical analysis with SPSS which is very expensive at least in the Indian context. The R provides excellent graphics as we all know. The R programming has been woven into the fabric of my Business Statistics book. Step-by-step detailed solutions of the real-life international cases embodied in the form of Examples are given in the text while explaining statistical techniques. Keeping in mind the background of the reader, who are basically beginners in the field of Decision Sciences, every attempt is made to include materials based on which the reader would be ready for an advanced career in the related field. The most important feature of Business Statistics using R is that it has a lot of worked out real life data analysis examples integrated with R language. Even though the Excel software is not believed to be superior to other standard statistical packages like SPSS and MINITAB, I have take every care to use it extensively throughout the text to perform data analysis. The SPSS (which is very popular among practitioners) output analysis is also carried out simultaneously. There is practically no book dealing Business Statistics with the R software, at least in Indian context. Each topic is discussed with a case study in the form of example containing R output explained in detail. In the current age of data-driven decisions making by Managers, it is important to master the fundamental statistical tools with appropriate depth and easy-to-use data analysis statistical software like R.

Book excerpt: This hugely successful Off Broadway show played for almost three years at New York's Orpheum Theatre, winning an Obie award as the Best of the Season. Billed as "a musical about an old operetta"-Little Mary Sunshine gently spoofs such old-time favorites like "Rose Marie" and "Naughty Marietta"-but has a personality all its own. The plot is a little bit of everything: Colorado Rangers led by stalwart Captain Jim; the lovely Mary Sunshine, her 'naughty' maid Nancy; a chorus of gigling schoolgirls and the ominous but benevolent Indian chief. Hearts are won and lost and won again, in this delightful, laugh-filled and charming show. -- Publisher's description.
