Book Micro Economics

    Book Details:
  • Author : C. Abraham
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-06-29
  • ISBN : 9401722676
  • Pages : 524 pages

Download or read book Micro Economics written by C. Abraham and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The origin of this work is to be found in the cyclostyled course on 'The optimal allocation of resources in the firm and in the Nation' taught by Mr Boiteux at the Centre d'Etudes des Programmes Economiques (C. E. P. E. ), Paris from 1957 to 1960. Of course, several successive later rewritings and a great many additions have profoundly altered the initial version: starting from a remarkably clear and concise exposition of eco nomic theory, we have ended with a book that is several hundred pages long. It is not at all certain that Mr Boiteux would recognise this intellec tual sponsorship. Nor is it certain that the gain in information justifies such an increase in size. However that may be, the initial plan has survived. Without Mr Boiteux this book would never have been undertaken: it is a pleasant duty for us respectfully to acknowledge our debt to him here. Microeconomic analysis, that is to say that analysis which results from the study of the behaviour and activities of individual decision-units, was for a long time the main concern of the neo-classicists. Quite recently the introduction of macroeconomic theory, dealing with aggregate quan tities, seemed to relegate it to second place. But this is not where it belongs: we tend to agree with Mr Raymond Barre that there are "two different scales of analysis that complement rather than contrast with one another".

Book So Far from Story Street

Download or read book So Far from Story Street written by J. P. LaVallee and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-01-10 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the life of the Author's great uncle, this novel begins in June of 1914, at the time of two apocalyptic events which took place within three days of each of each other: the Great Fire of Salem -when two thirds of the city burned to the ground; and the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand in Serbia, which sparked the beginning of the world conflict that was to scar the face of the Earth forever. Two parallel stories unfold: one told by Joseph of Salem, and the other by Philippe, a young Frenchman who has to join his compatriots in the fight against the Germans in August of 1914. The reader alternatively follows both young men through their adventures and trials as they face the very turbulent times of the era of `the lost generation'. Joseph experiences adventure, love, and the hardships of being a young soldier in Texas and then in northeastern France, So Far from Story Street. Philippe struggles to remain close to his family members and best friend, Monique, while he faces the brutality of the battlefields near Verdun and other ordeals related to trench warfare. The Author makes use of her ancestor's personal journals and letters which have been preserved since 1918 to recount his portion of the story. Parts of the tale are told in both English and in French. This contribution to the genre of historical fiction comes at the time of the centennial of the Great War--a war that, unfortunately, did not end all wars... -J.P. LaVallee.

Book Le Mythe Du Sale Boche

    Book Details:
  • Author : Benton L. Bradberry
  • Publisher : AuthorHouse
  • Release : 2018-07-17
  • ISBN : 1546251391
  • Pages : 366 pages

Download or read book Le Mythe Du Sale Boche written by Benton L. Bradberry and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-07-17 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Papers Presented at the Fourteenth International Conference on Patristic Studies Held in Oxford 2003

Download or read book Papers Presented at the Fourteenth International Conference on Patristic Studies Held in Oxford 2003 written by Frances Margaret Young and published by Peeters Publishers. This book was released on 2006 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Papers presented at the Fourteenth International Conference on Patristic Studies held in Oxford 2003 (see also Studia Patristica 39, 40, 41 and 42). The successive sets of Studia Patristica contain papers delivered at the International Conferences on Patristic Studies, which meet for a week once every four years in Oxford; they are held under the aegis of the Theology Faculty of the University. Members of these conferences come from all over the world and most offer papers. These range over the whole field, both East and West, from the second century to a section on the Nachleben of the Fathers. The majority are short papers dealing with some small and manageable point; they raise and sometimes resolve questions about the authenticity of documents, dates of events, and such like, and some unveil new texts. The smaller number of longer papers put such matters into context and indicate wider trends. The whole reflects the state of Patristic scholarship and demonstrates the vigour and popularity of the subject.
