L'essor d'internet et la révolution technologique ont permis de créer le cyberespace, dans lequel les frontières sont inexistantes. L'ouverture des cyberboutiques sur le monde extérieur, le développement de l'économie numérique de la gratuité et la mutation forcée de l'économie dans tous les secteurs d'activité témoignent de l'ampleur de cette révolution. Ces changements ont créé de nouveaux besoins de protection pour le consommateur, étant donné les facteurs de risque générés par les nouvelles technologies sur les données personnelles ainsi que sur les conditions d'un consentement libre et éclairé. En d'autres termes, le développement du commerce électronique a engendré des difficultés que le législateur essaie de résoudre. D'une part, le processus de conclusion du contrat électronique B to C comporte des difficultés liées à l'identification du professionnel, la connaissance du produit ou service et le formalisme d'échange du consentement. D'autre part, des difficultés existent à propos des solutions juridiques que le législateur apporte au consommateur pour contracter en connaissance de cause. Elles concernent l'effectivité des sanctions consuméristes, la protection par le droit de rétractation et les clauses abusives. En conséquence, l'objectif de cette thèse est de mettre en exergue ces difficultés de protection et de proposer des solutions juridiques et techniques.

Coral reefs are sometimes referred to as "canaries of the sea" because of their early warning ability to show near-shore oceanic stress. Because of their biological diversity, they are also called "rainforests of the sea." Coral reefs are vital to the well being of millions of people. Coral reef managers and government officials trying to save their valuable national resources have turned to research on coral reefs for help. The research presented in this publication merits a great deal of notice because the output is useful for decision support and training tools in integrated coastal zone management (ICZM). The work on cost-effectiveness analysis has developed integrated economic and ecological models, relying extensively on fuzzy logic procedures to model impacts and effects of interventions within the reef environment. By contrast, the marine system valuation work provides economic valuations of coral reefs, demonstrating the use of different modeling methods and treating key policy issues within this context.
