Book Performance Measurement in Non Profit Organizations

Download or read book Performance Measurement in Non Profit Organizations written by Patrizia Gazzola and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-09-26 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Performance Measurement in Non-Profit Organizations: The Road to Integrated Reporting addresses the issue of performance measurement in nonprofit companies with the aim of defining a system of useful measures to understand, manage, and improve the performance of such companies by employing systems theory to examine their conditions of existence and manifestations of life. From the proposed company model follows that the system of performance measures should make it possible to keep under control both the productive transformation, with the physical-technical efficiency indicators, and the economic transformation, with the economic efficiency indicators, and the financial transformation with the financial efficiency indicators, and finally the managerial transformation with the effectiveness indicators, taking into account the degree of satisfaction of the expectations of the main categories of company stakeholders. Readers will understand that economic analysis alone is not sufficient to assess the performance of such organizations, but it is necessary to unite it with the analysis of sustainability dimensions. It would therefore be appropriate to draw up an integrated report that combines the economic and financial dimensions with the pillars of sustainability, as in the case of companies in the second sector. There is a gap in the literature in this area that this book aims to fill, making it a valuable resource to researchers, academics, and advanced students interested in performance evaluation of NPOs.

Book Management in the Non Profit Sector

Download or read book Management in the Non Profit Sector written by Renato Civitillo and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-04-04 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the significant importance of the non-profit Sector, there is a relative limitation of possible modelling related to the management of the Non-Profit Institutions (NPIs). The studies and the research are concentrated in the analysis of the characteristics and the limitations related to the NPIs, rather than to the identification of possible models that can guarantee virtuous paths to these organizations. This book provides hypothetical trajectories for the construction of a theoretical model of reference for the management of NPIs—it accounts for the difficulties and the peculiarities of the non-profit sector, without however renouncing the concrete necessity and the great importance of approaches that try to avoid, or limit, the search for hybrid approaches constituted by the simple "transplant" of tools and techniques taken from the market or from the public administration context. Ultimately, it asserts that the non-profit sector is increasingly becoming the "pillar" on which modern civil society stands, to move towards a better future. The main aims of this book are to identify a link between accountability, responsibility and public trust in NPIs through a potential multidimensional managerial model in which these conceptual elements can be represented in a coordinated and systemic way. It will be of interest to researchers, academics, policymakers, and students in the fields of public and non-profit management, business management and administration, and public administration.

Book Modernization and Accountability in the Social Economy Sector

Download or read book Modernization and Accountability in the Social Economy Sector written by Ferreira, Augusta and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2019-05-31 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The social economy sector (SES) faces pressures for greater accountability to their funders, users, and citizens, and a growing need to report good practices in the social, economic, and financial impact that they have on the community. However, these entities often face difficulties related to the lack of an accounting framework that allows them to properly disseminate the results of their activities. Thus, practices that involve financial reporting and an assessment of their social, economic, and financial impact are needed to improve their accountability, sustainability, and operational performance. Modernization and Accountability in the Social Economy Sector is an essential reference source that discusses future avenues of development for the management of SES entities, accounting, control in SES management, and measures of performance in the SES. Featuring research on topics such as online communication, social accounting, and value reporting, this book is ideal for managers, financial consultants, academicians, researchers, and students interested in accounting, management, internal control, auditing, and technology use in the SES.

Book Management and Valuation of Heritage Assets

Download or read book Management and Valuation of Heritage Assets written by Loris Landriani and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-10-29 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The valuation of Heritage Assets (HA), which are a vital resource for the non-profit public or private organizations operating in the heritage sector is on the one hand sometimes difficult to do, and on the other, can be excessively costly with respect to the correlated disclosure benefits. The growing application of the (full or modified) accrual basis of accounting in the public and non-profit sectors has extended and reanimated this issue. This book applies the comparative method, in order to provide new information on the analyzed subject. Specifically, after having investigated the different theoretical and technical proposals, it compares the reporting behavior of significant cases of Italian and American public and private organizations, coming from different cultural and management approaches. Proposing a link between the managerial and reporting issues of the organizations involved in the management and maintenance of heritage assets, this book is crucial in the task to optimize the performance of organizations in this sector.

Book The Role of Universities in the Europe 2020 Strategy

Download or read book The Role of Universities in the Europe 2020 Strategy written by Alessandra Ricciardelli and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-31 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a unique study of the role of universities, as organisation systems, in the pursuit of the Europe 2020 strategy. While Europe 2020 focuses on creating the basis for the advancement and cohesion of the EU’s member states, it also has an important role in influencing the development strategies for potential candidate states. In this regard, the book examines two new member states – Slovenia and Croatia – and two potential EU candidate states – Serbia and Kosovo – in the Western Balkans. Based on these cases, the author argues that the operationalization of the Europe 2020 strategy depends to a great extent of the role and contribution of tertiary organisations such as educational institutions, i.e. public and private universities, and therefore requires the formulation of an economic development strategy at the national level that is capable of duly allocating the available financial resources. The study suggests that the paradigm shift represented by Europe 2020 has helped to forge a new academic identity, adding to the relevance of university organisations as fundamental agents for the promotion of economic development; in addition, it shows that an intensive learning process involving major structural changes is underway in the four countries discussed, as well as many other EU member states.
