Book Laela and the Moonline

Download or read book Laela and the Moonline written by Lisa Perskie Rodriguez and published by Gatekeeper Press. This book was released on 2022-02-25 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Surprises unfold in the predictable. . . . You can never fully foresee the foreseen.” Long ago, the four tribes of Aerizon lived as one people, but the time of unity has passed. Now, three of the tribes collectively called the Treedles inhabit the forest canopy. The fourth tribe, the Mergons, live on the ground and pose a constant threat to the Treedles. Laela is a young Treedlegirl coming of age in the treetop realm of Aerizon. Her destiny, as yet unrevealed, will cast her in the role of catalyst for epic change. Laela grows increasingly restless with the cultural limits and expectations for young Treedle women. In her quest to understand and express her authentic self, she faces soul-transforming psychological and physical tests. Unlike Treedle women before her, she pushes back against traditional gender and cultural boundaries. Propelled by mysterious forces, she ventures into the forest and onto the lands below, breaking ground for a new era. As she evolves spiritually, Laela faces mental challenges, redefining her perception of the impact one person can have on the world. Finally, she gains the courage to raise her voice in defense of herself and her people. Seekers of truth and justice will relate to how Laela grapples with the challenge of finding her guiding values. Book Review: “A teenager seeks adventure and transcendence in this YA fantasy debut. Laela is a Treedle who lives in the elevated canopy world of Aerizon. She's about to transition from girlhood to womanhood, and in the Pyuva clan, that means a life focused on the home and child rearing. But Laela yearns to continue hunting and exploring the wider realm, activities reserved for boys and men. Complicating her feelings is an attraction to her handsome and popular Pyuva classmate Vito. . . . Perskie delivers a lushly crafted tale that embraces the chosen one trope in unexpected ways. Laela will earn her place in readers' hearts with her relatable bristling at Treedle conformity. . . . The details about Treedle culture—including Laela's stay in the Enclosure during her transition—make the hero's transgressions later in the narrative all the more astonishing. . . .” — Kirkus Reviews

Book excerpt: "What is divine energy" is an incredibly profound but straightforward exposition of the "science of everything." In this landmark work, Dr. Vipin Gupta begins with the investigation of the quintessential questions for understanding divine energy and managing life joyfully. Who am I? What is the soul? What is the spirit? Who is God? What is religion? What is the purpose of our life? What happens after death? Do we become a star as childrens’ books tell us? What is dark matter? What is black hole? What is the center of the universe? Is there an Absolute or anything beyond that? Are we truly incapable of creating or destroying energy? Dr. Gupta traces the journey of a cell, its origins in an atom, its transformation into energy, and how energy norms the potential of divinity within each person. He clarifies ninety-six paths of self-development for realizing this potential. He shows that, contrary to the present understanding, a cell’s development involves thirty-three phases. The work is rooted in the state-of-the-art science of microbiological-macrophysical genetics, India's ancient cultural metaphysics, and a unique energy quantification of the dynamic benefits and costs of everything. It is a part of a series of twelve books that traverses through an understanding of the present reality that can be applied to one’s personal life and for societal impact. It offers an unusual integration, which the beta readers report as “never seen anything like this before” and “overwhelming because of its originality, technicality, and comprehensiveness.” Dr. Vipin Gupta has a Ph.D. in managerial science and applied economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a gold medalist from the Post-graduate Program of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. He is a Professor of sensible management and appropriate science at the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, California State University San Bernardino, USA.

Book Your Children Are Boring

Download or read book Your Children Are Boring written by Tom James and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2020-02-06 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The funniest book of the year" Are you sick of a society that seems obsessed with children? Do you find modern parents insufferable? Your Children Are Boring is a uniquely humorous look at our culture's obsession with children, a world where virtually every advert has a squawking child in it, where pubs are full of wailing infants, and where every other Facebook post is tagged #ProudDad. Why do parents themselves behave like infants? Why having a child doesn't make you less selfish, why it's extremely unlikely that your child is in fact, 'special', and why modern parenting is ruining everything, not least the kids themselves. All the answers lie within, and it's your duty to read it. Yes, Your Children Are Boring will make you laugh, but it's much more than that. Once consumed you must take its teachings into the world and fix society. Or something. Oh and if you put 'Dad' or 'Mum' in your social media bios, this book is aimed at you. An excerpt from Your Children Are Boring: "There are more radical solutions available to us of course. I take my lead from the way we've societally turned smokers into pariahs at pubs. Let's create family areas in the pubs! Imagine, roped off areas out the back, covered in sick, where the tables are made of plastic rather than wood, soundproofed so we don't have to listen to you loudly slow-talking, or the baby crying. Or you could just go to McDonalds, which is where the kids want to be anyway. And that's another thing; does anyone think these kids want to go to a pub? They're not renowned for their rides and pits of plastic balls. But perhaps that's just a matter of time. We'll inevitably infantilise getting smashed like we seem intent on doing to everything else. You want it all don't you, your spoilt little brain thinks, 'I've had a child, but that doesn't mean I should modify my life. I still want pub, so baby come to pub!' Kids should be, and probably are, bored out of their tiny minds at pubs. It's where grown-ups go to bitch about their friends' new kitchen or boyfriend / girlfriend, not a playground, that's why they're full of glass, fruit machines and sharp edges. If we can be a little melodramatic though, you're a virus. You're ruining pubs like you ruined football and the cinema, colonising it like the most boring invading army in history armed with iPhones and Kleenex."

Book excerpt: FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF "DEATH AT SEAWORLD," NOW IN DEVELOPMENT FOR A MAJOR 10-PART NETWORK SERIES. Love, Life and Loss in the Upper Stratosphere of High Society New York. A comedy. Megan O'Malley is a working-class, aspiring journalist from Ypsilanti who moves to New York City and is unexpectedly hurled into the madness of uber-rich Manhattan, with its competitive consumption, preposterous pretensions, massive financial fiefdoms, and the over-indulged wealthy, whose hordes of help keep the silver polished, the chateaubriand perfectly cooked and the martinis exquisitely dry. Megan is soon swept off her feet by the city's most celebrated wealthy bachelor, Rexford Bainbridge, III, better known as "Sexy Rexy." When he proposes to her, Rex's stunned circle of friends, a cabal of Type-A socialites, reluctantly agree to take the decidedly down-market Midwesterner under their comically pompous wings and guide her through a massive makeover. As Megan pursues her dream of journalism, she must navigate a brave new life of ridiculous opulence, relentless snobbery and stinging ridicule, mostly directed at her. When everything comes crashing down, she is shunned by the ladies who lunch. Megan must now claw her way back to respectability and financial stability, while also delivering a fitting comeuppance to her mentors-turned-tormentors. This rags-to-riches-to-rags social satire unearths the dark, hilarious underbelly of class warfare in contemporary Manhattan. David Kirby spent considerable time rubbing elbows with the social elites who comprise the world of "Upper East Bride." As Press Secretary at the American Foundation for AIDS Research, he accompanied Elizabeth Taylor around the globe, mixing with movie stars, TV celebrities, royalty and other very rich people, most of whom were quite nice. He has written for The NY Times, Huffington Post, UPI, Discover, Glamour and others, and published four nonfiction books with St. Martin's Press. This is his first novel. He lives in NYC (of course).

Book excerpt: With America under attack from within, twelve-year-old James must fight his way to freedom while trying to hold onto his values and virtue. "We are all given a space in life to fill, a roaring emptiness in time... and it's how you choose to fill that void, that will determine the difference in becoming a man or a legend." That's what my father said to me a few years ago before he walked out on Mom, Emily, and me. If I would have had any sense back then, I would have asked him exactly what that meant. Instead, I'm out here learning it the hard way - dodging bullets and bombs while America is at war - my friends fighting back with all we have, while trying to keep these orphaned children safe and our dreams alive. They call us The Risers. Well, okay... so we call ourselves "The Risers." But either way, we're out here doing everything we can just to survive and rise up from our nation's ashes with honor, integrity, and justice. Now, with smoky memories of a lost childhood, and the horrible, lingering, cardboard taste of MRE crackers (still left over from living in Dad's bomb shelter), my mini army and me march forward, taking back what was once taken for granted. But to be honest, I'm really just out here winging it. Wish me luck.

Book excerpt: After becoming trapped in a secret, deep underground military base, Lilly is reliant upon a long-term captive there who's like no man she's ever met before. He helps her survive in a masculine environment that is both dangerous and foreboding. In a world where passion and power reign supreme, her survival depends upon him. When discussions turn to the current social agenda playing out in the world above, and the political spin associated with it, he proves himself to be more brain than brawn. The veil is lifted from Lilly's eyes when her alpha male confidant shares secrets hidden in religious texts, the occult, and secret societies. The elite, and the men behind the curtain, have been following mystery school teachings for thousands of years. These teachings are hiding in plain sight, having been encoded into many readily available texts. The globalists have been working towards a set goal for thousands of years. Their leading societies - the Freemason's, the CIA and the Catholic Church's dark agenda has long been to get humanity to believe many falsehoods at a certain point in time-these untruths are currently being championed as true. Having, for the most part, achieved their goal, the global elite are now ready to execute their agenda-put plans in action. With the clock ticking, Lilly hopes to escape in time to bring truth to the world. If you enjoyed Dan Brown's book, "The Da Vinci Code" Origin or Inferno, I think you will probably enjoy this book. Like Brown's book, this book includes research, knowledge, and facts. Keep in mind, however, that Dan Brown's books are suitable for all ages, and are not particularly controversial or confronting, whereas: "White Harvest" is an erotic, paranormal romance. A dark comedy that covers supposed conspiracy theories. Ten years' worth of dedicated research went into this book. Subjects weaved into the story, include human anatomy, climate change, the Federal Reserve, Darwinism, Woman's Lib, nuclear weapons, False Flags, multiculturalism, religion, mythology, Christianity, God, the False Prophet, Judgement Day, the goddess, and more.
