Book excerpt: Objectif : explorer les pratiques vaccinales des sages-femmes ainsi que les intérêts et freins ressentis dans leurs pratiques lors du suivi gynécologique de prévention et de contraception des femmes. Matériels et méthode. Une étude qualitative exploratoire par des entretiens semi-directifs a été réalisée. Elle s'est déroulée de Septembre à Décembre 2020 dans le département du Finistère et du Morbihan. Les critères d'inclusion étaient des sages-femmes en activité pratiquant des consultations de contraception et de suivi gynécologique de prévention, en secteur libéral ou dans les services de consultations hospitalières. Résultats : onze entretiens ont été réalisés. Les deux intérêts mis en évidence sont un rattrapage des patientes qui consultent peu leur médecin traitant et un travail en binôme avec le médecin traitant dans le but d'établir une prise en charge globale pour un suivi plus régulier. Les freins sont un sentiment de manque de connaissances et d'informations, la réticence des patientes à la vaccination, la disponibilité de l'outil principal de recueil du statut vaccinal, le carnet de santé, qui n'est pas apporté par les patientes ou perdu et le temps limité de la consultation surtout dans le secteur hospitalier. Les sages-femmes ont le sentiment d'avoir un rôle plus important dans les vaccinations en lien avec leur activité. Conclusion : les sages-femmes ont des connaissances et pratiques conformes aux recommandations mais expriment des doutes sur leurs compétences et ne s'approprient pas pleinement leur place d'acteur de la vaccination dans le suivi de la femme.

As one of 14 pilots shot down or experience mechanical failure in the ensuing battle, he parachuted into the sea 18 km from land, 100 km southwest of Darwin in the Fogg Bay area. He reached the shore in a dinghy. For the next 15 days he trudged through inhospitable country in a futile attempt to return to Strauss airbase. What should have been a few days walk turned into his worst possible nightmare as he stumbled aimlessly through mosquito and crocodile infested swamps. "It was almost six days I'd been without sleep, apart from a short period of unconsciousness and those few moments before I fell out of that tree," he said. " I became demented by the cavalcade of mosquitoes and hallucinating badly". His experience was only to worsen - he waded halfway across a tidal river to be confronted by a large saltie. Darwin historian John Haslett help Stagg map the original route by retracing his steps, even managing to relocate an American Kittyhawk Stagg found crashed in the middle of nowhere.
