Dabei werden zunächst Kennwerte gezeigt, welche die Ablenkungswirkung von derartigen Systemen beschreiben. Bei der Bestimmung der Ablenkungswirkung anhand dieser Kennwerte ist es wichtig, dass stets alle Werte zusammen betrachtet und deren Bedeutung gegeneinander abgewogen wird, da man aufgrund der isolierten Betrachtung eines einzigen Wertes zu falschen Schlüssen kommen kann. Daraufhin werden Kennwerte beschrieben, welche Indikatoren für die Beanspruchung des Fahrers sind und die sich entsprechend einer Be- oder Entlastung des Fahrers signifi kant verändern. Ein Beispiel ist die visuelle Suchaktivität, welche mit zunehmender Beanspruchung abnimmt. Im Anschluss daran wird aufgezeigt, wie die Berechnung dieser Kennwerte aus den im Versuch gewonnenen Rohdaten softwaretechnisch unterstützt werden kann. Hierzu wird im Rahmen der vorliegenden Studie das Blickerfassungssystem Dikablis verwendet. Das leichte und komfortable System ist kopfbasiert und erlaubt das Blickfeld und das linke Auge zu registrieren. Der Vorteil dieses Systems besteht darin, dass sowohl das Blickfeldvideo als auch das Augenvideo gespeichert werden, wodurch man auch nach dem Versuch vollen Zugriff auf die Blickdaten hat. Dies erlaubt beispielsweise eine Kalibrierung der Blickdaten sowie das Durchführen der Pupillenerkennung auch nach einem bereits abgeschlossenen Versuch. Dadurch lassen sich die gewonnenen Blickdaten qualitativ hochwertig aufbereiten, wodurch eine exakte Bestimmung der Kennwerte zur Ablenkungswirkung und zur Beanspruchung möglich ist. Blickzuwendungsintervalle auf Zuwendungszonen, den so genannten „Areas of Interest“ (AOI) werden mittels einer Triggerfunktionalität codiert. Hierzu drückt der Anwender immer dann eine vorab defi nierte Taste, wenn sich der Blick des Probanden in dem entsprechenden AOI befi ndet. Diese Zuwendungsintervalle werden zeitlich synchron zu dem Blickvideo in einer Textdatei gespeichert, in der sich auch die Kalibrierinformationen sowie die x- und y-Koordinaten des Pupillenmittelpunktes befi nden. Diese Textdatei wird dann zur Bestimmung der Ablenkungs- und Beanspruchungskennwerte ausgelesen.

Many of the countries that are members of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) which are: Burundi, Angola, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Zambia, have experienced political violence and bloodshed at one time or another. While a few states have been advancing electoral democracy, environmental protection and peaceful state building, the overall intensity of violence in the region has led to civil wars, invasion, genocide, dictatorships, political instability, and underdevelopment. Efforts to establish sustainable peace, meaningful socio-economic development and participatory democracy have not been quite successful. Using various methodologies and paradigms, this book interrogates the complexity of the causes of these conflicts; and examines their impact and implications for socio-economic development of the region. The non-consensual actions related to these conflicts and imperatives of power struggles supported by the agents of savage capitalism have paralysed efforts toward progress. The book therefore recommends new policy frameworks within regionalist lenses and neo-realist politics to bring about sustainable peace in the region.
