Book PREVISION A LONG TERME DE LA DEMANDE D ENERGIE AU NIVEAU REGIONAL

Download or read book PREVISION A LONG TERME DE LA DEMANDE D ENERGIE AU NIVEAU REGIONAL written by Joan Alario i Gasuella and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: L'OBJET DE CETTE THESE EST LE DEVELOPPEMENT D'UN SYSTEME DE PREVISION A MOYEN-LONG TERME (1990-2000) DE LA DEMANDE D'ENERGIE DANS LA REGION DE LA CATALOGNE (ESPAGNE). LES DIFFICULTES ET LES CARACTERISTIQUES DE LA PREVISION DE LA DEMANDE D'ENERGIE AU NIVEAU REGIONAL SONT ANALYSEES. LE MODELE DE PREVISION EST BASE SUR LA THEORIE GENERALE DES SYSTEMES ET LA METHODE DES SCENARIOS. EN RESUME, LA STRUCTURE DU MODELE EST DEDUITE A PARTIR DE L'ANALYSE DE L'EVOLUTION DE LA DEMANDE D'ENERGIE DANS LE PASSE ET AUSSI DE LA MODELISATION DES OBJECTIFS OU CRITERES DES DECIDEURS IMPLIQUES. LA METHODE DES SCENARIOS EST UTILISEE POUR L'ETABLISSEMENT DES HYPOTHESES SUR L'EVOLUTION DES VARIABLES D'ENTREE DU MODELE (SOCIO-ECONOMIQUES). CETTE THESE METTE EN EVIDENCE LA NECESSITE D'OBTENIR CERTAINES DONNEES STATISTIQUES OU DE REALISER DES ENQUETES AFIN DE MIEUX COMPRENDRE LE ROLE DES DIVERS FACTEURS EXPLICATIFS DE LA DEMANDE D'ENERGIE. AU NIVEAU REGIONAL, L'EMPLOI DE MODELES SIMPLES ET TRES ADAPTES AUX SITUATIONS REGIONALES CONCRETES SEMBLE ADEQUAT. LES RESULTATS DE LA PREVISION SUPPOSENT UN CHANGEMENT PAR RAPPORT AUX TENDENCES PASSEES ET ON OBSERVE UNE FORTE SENSIBILITE DES RESULTATS AUX HYPOTHESES SUR LA REPARTITION DE LA DEMANDE PAR FORMES D'ENERGIE ET SUR LES ECONOMIES D'ENERGIE; CES DERNIERS ASPECTS POURRAIT ETRE AUSSI L'OBJET D'ANALYSES PLUS DETAILLEES.

Book Energy Demand Facts and Trends

Download or read book Energy Demand Facts and Trends written by B. Chateau and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fIrst oil crisis of 1973-74 and the questions it raised in the economic and social fIelds drew attention to energy issues. Industrial societies, accustomed for two decades or more to energy sufficiently easy to produce and cheap to consume that it was thought to be inexhaustible, began to question their energy future. The studies undertaken at that time, and since, on a national, regional, or world level were over-optimistic. The problem seemed simple enough to solve. On the one hand, a certain number of resources: coal, the abundance of which was discovered, or rather rediscovered oil, source of all the problems ... In fact, the problems seemed to come, if not from oil itself (an easy explanation), then from those who produced it without really owning it, and from those who owned it without really control ling it natural gas, second only to oil and less compromised uranium, all of whose promises had not been kept, but whose resources were not in question solar energy, multiform and really inexhaustible thermonuclear fusion, and geothermal energy, etc. On the other hand, energy consumption, though excessive perhaps, was symbolic of progress, development, and increased well being. The originality of the energy policies set up since 1974 lies in the fact they no longer aimed to produce (or import) more, but to consume less. They sought, and still seek, what might be emphatically called the control of energy consump tion, or rather the control of energy demand.

Book Management of Weather and Climate Risk in the Energy Industry

Download or read book Management of Weather and Climate Risk in the Energy Industry written by Alberto Troccoli and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-11-28 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meteorological and climate data are indeed essential both in day-to-day energy management and for the definition of production and distribution infrastructures. For instance, the supply of electricity to users can be disturbed by extreme meteorological events such as thunderstorms with unusually strong winds, severe icing, severe cold spells, sea level elevation associated with storm surges, floods ... To be protected against such events, it is not sufficient to act after they have taken place. It is necessary to identify their potential impacts precisely and assess the probability of their occurrence. This book shows that this can only be done through an enhanced dialogue between the energy community and the climate and meteorology community. This implies an in-depth dialogue between actors to define precisely what kind of data is needed and how it should be used. Météo-France has been in long-term cooperation with the energy sector, including the fields of electricity production and distribution. Drawing on this experience, it should be noted in this respect the importance of lo- term partnership between actors as exemplified here by the message of EDF.

Book Energy Modelling Studies and Conservation

Download or read book Energy Modelling Studies and Conservation written by Sam Stuart and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 724 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Energy Modelling Studies and Conservation documents the proceedings of seminar of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe held in Washington D.C., on 24-28 March 1980. The volume begins with a Seminar Theme Paper that identifies background policy issues that lead to modeling; discusses points of view involved in energy policy modeling; defines the context of a set of energy conservation problems or questions being analyzed; and provides a forward-looking view of the subject and its problems. This is followed by 54 papers that are organized into three main topics: (1) energy models of major interest to individual countries; (2) the interaction between energy conservation measures and the economy; and (3) the international aspects of energy conservation models. The papers on Topic 1 cover forecasting methodologies, demand and conservation studies, and electricity and supply studies. The papers on Topic 2 present the experiences in countries such as Norway, UK, the USSR, and US. The papers on Topic 3 include studies on energy conservation policies in France, Germany, and Italy; and the MARKAL multi-period linear programming model for joint research and development in the field of new energy technologies of the 17 countries of the International Energy Agency.

Book Energy Demand and Efficient Use

Download or read book Energy Demand and Efficient Use written by F. Amman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Fourth International School on Energetics was held in July 1980 at Erice, Sicily and was devoted to the subject of Energy Demand and Efficient Use. In contrast to the Third School, we chose to concentrate on the demand side of the energy equation. The initial emphasis was on the methodology for determining demand; but it soon became clear that it is necessary to control demand also. All too often energy policy is set by the large industrial nations, or those nations blessed with a plentiful supply of fossil fuels. It seemed to us important to have the views of some repre sentatives from the less developed countries. The manuscripts were collected and ordered by Ms. Diane Rolinski of Harvard University whose work was invaluable. Book Physics and Contemporary Needs

Download or read book Physics and Contemporary Needs written by A. M. Khan and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 461 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume consists of lectures delivered at the Sixth Inter national Nathiagali Summer College on Physics and Contemporary Needs held at Islamabad from June 15 to July 2, 1981. The College used to be held at one of the scenic hill resorts of Pakistan, Nathiagali, hence the name of the College. The College was organized by the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), under the patronage of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, with a view to providing an opportunity for local physicists and physicists from developing countries for learning of the latest developments in various branches of physics. The University Grants Commission provided a financial grant for the participation of physicists from the universities of Pakistan. The College had 18 lecturers from 7 countries. The total participation in the College was by over 200 people from 18 different countries. There were 15 days of concentrated lecturing during the day followed by seminars and discussion sessions in the evenings. From its inception the College has had a broad-based, multi disciplinary emphasis. The purpose of the College has been to provide physicists in the developing countries with enough information in various branches of physics so that they can shift, or broaden, their field of research. In the poor countries, like Pakistan, physicists cannot always get facilities and opportunities to continue research in their original field of specialisation at a reasonable level.
