Book Still reading Hegel 200 years after the phenomenology of spirit

Download or read book Still reading Hegel 200 years after the phenomenology of spirit written by Edmundo Balsemão Pires and published by Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra / Coimbra University Press. This book was released on 2009-02-01 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. I&D L.I.F. In conjunction with a broad commemorative movement in Europe and America, the Institute for Philosophical Studies, based at the Faculty of Letters, University of Coimbra, in collaboration with the R&D unit L.I.F. – Language, Interpretation and Philosophy and with the “Centre for Philosophy” of the University of Lisbon organized on 19th and 20th November 2007 an international conference commemorating the 200th anniversary of Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit (first published in 1807). On the occasion of this conference, the Portuguese philosophical community had the opportunity to come up against some of the most recent orientation in the analysis of this philosopher’s oeuvre, putting itself to the test as regards its analytical skills. This volume offers a picture of that encounter, as faithful as possible to what were, at the time, the papers offered by/expositions of the various authors.

Download or read book Science of Life After Death written by Alexander Moreira-Almeida and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-07-01 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the best available empirical evidence regarding one of the most challenging and pervasive questions throughout ages, cultures, and religions: the survival of human consciousness after death. It begins with a contextual overview of belief in personal survival and refutes misguided historical and epistemological arguments against the notion of survival after death (e.g., irrational, purely religious, impossible to be addressed by science, that has been proved false by neuroscience). The book provides an overview of the scientific evidence regarding the survival of human consciousness after death, focusing on studies on mediumship, near-death and out-of-body experiences, and reincarnation. Featured topics of coverage include: The belief in life after death in the contemporary world as well as in the history of religions and philosophy. The key misguided arguments and prejudices against the academic study of afterlife survival. What constitutes empirical evidence for survival after death? The main explanatory hypotheses alternative to survival after death. The chief cultural barriers to a fair examination of the available evidence for survival of consciousness after death. Science of Life After Death is an essential resource for researchers, professors, and graduate students as well as clinicians, therapists, and other professionals in developmental and clinical psychology; spirituality, religious. and consciousness studies; psychiatry; neuroscience / neurology; phenomenology / philosophy; complementary and alternative medicine; and all interrelated disciplines.

Book Re mapping World Literature

Download or read book Re mapping World Literature written by Gesine Müller and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2018-03-05 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can we talk about World Literature if we do not actually examine the world as a whole? Research on World Literature commonly focuses on the dynamics of a western center and a southern periphery, ignoring the fact that numerous literary relationships exist beyond these established constellations of thinking and reading within the Global South. Re-Mapping World Literature suggests a different approach that aims to investigate new navigational tools that extend beyond the known poles and meridians of current literary maps. Using the example of Latin American literatures, this study provides innovative insights into the literary modeling of shared historical experiences, epistemological crosscurrents, and book market processes within the Global South which thus far have received scant attention. The contributions to this volume, from renowned scholars in the fields of World and Latin American literatures, assess travelling aesthetics and genres, processes of translation and circulation of literary works, as well as the complex epistemological entanglements and shared worldviews between Latin America, Africa and Asia. A timely book that embraces highly innovative perspectives, it will be a must-read for all scholars involved in the field of the global dimensions of literature.

Book ESTADOS DE CONCIENCIA CUANDO DORMIMOS Y SO AMOS ASPECTOS M DICOS FILOS FICOS Y DE LAS ARTES

Download or read book ESTADOS DE CONCIENCIA CUANDO DORMIMOS Y SO AMOS ASPECTOS M DICOS FILOS FICOS Y DE LAS ARTES written by Rafael Salin-Pascual and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-11-20 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
