Au vue de ces constats, nous avons tenté dans cette recherche, d’apporter des éléments de réponse concernant cette phase de désengagement/engagement à travers la relation parent/enfant et le rôle du prédécesseur. Cette recherche permet de mettre en avant le rôle déterminant du prédécesseur sur la continuité de l’entreprise familiale et sur l’attitude du successeur. Nous proposons quatre attitudes du successeur suite à son intégration de l’entreprise familiale. Ces attitudes sont l’indépendance tardive, l’indépendance non freinée, le conservatisme forcé et le conservatisme convenu. Nous mettons également en avant des facteurs susceptibles de bloquer ou de faciliter le déroulement de l’intégration du successeur dans l’entreprise familiale française non cotée.
