Download or read book L impact du v ganisme sur la sant bucco dentaire written by Jérémy Godiot and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Cons quences du r gime v g tarien v g talien sur la sph re oro faciale written by Oana Duboscq and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Caterpillar Club Survivor

Download or read book Caterpillar Club Survivor written by Ross Smith Stagg and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spitfire pilot Ross Smith Stagg was one of 33 Allied airmen to defend Darwin against Japanese invasion on May 2, 1943. As one of 14 pilots shot down or experience mechanical failure in the ensuing battle, he parachuted into the sea 18 km from land, 100 km southwest of Darwin in the Fogg Bay area. He reached the shore in a dinghy. For the next 15 days he trudged through inhospitable country in a futile attempt to return to Strauss airbase. What should have been a few days walk turned into his worst possible nightmare as he stumbled aimlessly through mosquito and crocodile infested swamps. "It was almost six days I'd been without sleep, apart from a short period of unconsciousness and those few moments before I fell out of that tree," he said. " I became demented by the cavalcade of mosquitoes and hallucinating badly". His experience was only to worsen - he waded halfway across a tidal river to be confronted by a large saltie. Darwin historian John Haslett help Stagg map the original route by retracing his steps, even managing to relocate an American Kittyhawk Stagg found crashed in the middle of nowhere.

Book excerpt: Widely regarded as D. H. Lawrence's greatest novel, Women in Love is both a lucid account of English society before the First World War, and a brilliant evocation of the inexorable power of human desire.Women in Love continues where The Rainbow left off, with the third generation of Brangwens: Ursula Brangwen, now a teacher at Beldover, a mining town in the Midlands, and her sister Gudrun, who has returned from art school in London. The focus of the novel is primarily on their relationships, Ursula's with Rupert Birkin, a school inspector, and Gudrun's with industrialist Gerald Crich, and later with a sculptor, Loerke. Quintessentially modernist, Women in Love is one of Lawrence's most extraordinary, innovative and unsettling works

Download or read book Humbitious written by Amer Kaissi and published by Page Two Press. This book was released on 2022-01-10 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fortune favors the humble Arrogant. Charismatic. Narcissistic If you were to name traits that define strong leaders, these are some of the words that likely spring to mind. Conventional thinking would have us believe that it's those filled with hubris and free of self-doubt that make the best leaders. The evidence, however, tells quite a different story. In Humbitious, professional speaker, executive coach and distinguished Trinity University professor Amer Kaissi shatters the common myths about leadership being an ego-driven game. Drawing on extensive research, personal stories, and fascinating historical examples of leadership done right (and wrong), Kaissi reveals why the most effective, high-performing leaders aren't those with the biggest egos, but who possess humility, coupled with ambition and drive. Tracing triumphs (and missteps) of leaders from Napoleon Bonaparte to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs to disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, soccer star Alex Morgan to Costco CEO Jim Sinegal, and others, Kaissi illuminates what true humility is-and what it isn't-and how to cultivate it within yourself and with others. As you gain insight into this critical leadership trait, you'll come to understand that humility requires ambition, courage, and fierce determination. Humility, you'll learn, isn't about false modesty; it's about being honest with yourself, and others, about your abilities and potential, so you can make a realistic plan for improvement. The unequivocal truth is that the successful narcissists that you either know or are working for right now are the exception to the rule. The highest performers are those who adopt and integrate humility into their relationships with others, with their organizations, and with themselves. Because fortune favors not simply the bold-but the humbitious.

Book excerpt: "The Waves is an astonishingly beautiful and poetic novel and is often regarded as Virginia Woolf's masterpiece. The Waves conveys the full complexity and richness of human experience. Tracing the lives of a group of friends, The Waves follows their development from childhood to youth and middle age. While social events, individual achievements and disappointments form its narrative, the novel is most remarkable for the rich poetic language that expresses the inner life of its characters: their aspirations, their triumphs and regrets, their awareness of unity and isolation. Separately and together, they query the relationship of past to present, and the meaning of life itself. In a 2015 poll conducted by BBC, The Waves was voted the 16th greatest British novel ever written."
