Parmi les principaux thèmes couverts par les exposés théoriques figurent les différents critères d’étude de rentabilité des investissements, exprimés en prix de référence pour les uns et en termes de valeurs ajoutées et importations incluses pour les autres. Ces thèmes intègrent les effets externes, en particulier l’environnement, et débouchent en conséquence sur une complète reformulation des concepts de valeurs et de coûts. Par la logique des enchaînements théoriques d’actualité qu’il suit, cet ouvrage se présente d’abord comme un manuel d’appui aux cours spécialisés en analyses d’impact des projets et en programmation des investissements au niveau de la dernière année du baccalauréat, de la licence ou de la maîtrise en science économique et en gestion. Les dépassements théoriques qu’il présente font également de cet ouvrage une référence utile aux étudiants et chercheurs de niveau supérieur. Enfin, ses études de cas en font un précieux guide pratique pour les analystes des investissements.

However, during the 1990s several challenges emerged in relation to levels of inequality and environmental degradation. This evaluative report on the relative effectiveness of World Bank assistance to China focuses on the period 1993-2002, although it includes some references to developments in earlier and more recent years also. Findings include that the World Bank has made important contributions to economic reform, poverty reduction, infrastructure development, and environmental protection, but has fallen short of its objectives in promoting fiscal and financial reforms to reduce inequality and risk.

Yet much remains to be done if solar heating is to reach its full potential. Many difficulties have been surmounted in arriving at today's position. The foundations of the growing confidence of architects and engineers are to be found in the concerted programmes of research and development mounted by ty,'o of the sponsors of the Conference the European Community and the International Energy Agency. Some of the more tangible products of these programmes have been reported here: component and system behaviour has been subjected to rigorous scientific study; new test facilities have been founded; test procedures devised; simulation methods developed and evaluated; design rules formulated and checked against measured performance. It has been apparent here that the willingness to exchange information and experiences, which has always been a feature of the solar energy scene, remains as strong as ever. A further information-sharing initiative was noted on the part of another sponsor, UNESCO - the setting-up of the European Cooperative Network on Solar Energy, involving countries from both eastern and western Europe.
