Après l'avulsion dentaire, une solution prothétique est souvent proposée au patient (implantaire ou amovible). L'avulsion doit permettre de préserver au mieux les tissus adjacents pour guider la cicatrisation et réaliser une prothèse dans de bonnes conditions (maintien du volume osseux, crêtes rétentives). La planification prothétique peut débuter avant même que la dent condamnée soit extraite d'où l'importance de connaître les techniques nous permettant de préserver les tissus environnants au site opératoire. Cette thèse a pour but de recueillir dans la littérature les pratiques actuelles et les différentes étapes à respecter et à intégrer dans le protocole atraumatique d'une avulsion dentaire. Dans une première partie, nous aborderons les généralités relatives à l'avulsion dentaire, dans une deuxième partie, nous étudierons les techniques conventionnelles puis dans une troisième partie, nous exposerons les nouvelles techniques en finissant par la réalisation d'un arbre décisionnel afin d'adapter au mieux la technique opératoire à la situation clinique.
