Book The Keys to a Happy and Fulfilling Life as a Couple

Download or read book The Keys to a Happy and Fulfilling Life as a Couple written by Ron Cherry and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: YouaEUR(tm)re holding in your hands now, Solutions to all of your relationship challenges for now and the future. One of the finest book about love and forgiveness we have ever read, this inspiring book guides us how to reach the full potential to a lasting commitment of joy, peace, forgiveness, and endless love while fulfilling yourself daily. The best-loved teaching and forgiveness show us how we can transform all life difficulties of the couple into a valuable opportunity for building a healthy relationship we have been looking for a long time. When weaEUR(tm)re talking about love or forgiveness, is there really Western or Eastern love? Does not everyone seek happiness, joy, peace, unconditional love, financial security? Do we not seek a wise, intelligent, and captivating man or woman to build forgiveness and love based on mutual respect, understanding, responsibility, integrity and humility, faithfulness, effective communication, family, and community spirit? Human being is perfectly imperfect, but we can be perfected in love, forgiveness, and kindness. Each of us has already been hurt, betrayed, and despised by our wife or our husband, and would like to hear the words: aEURoeI apologize sincerely,aEUR aEURoeI am sorry for everything that has happened between us,aEUR aEURoeI truly regret everything,aEUR aEURoeI love you tremendously,aEUR aEURoeYou are adorable,aEUR aEURoeWe will get there. I trust you,aEUR aEURoeI promise to be faithful, supportive, and loyal.aEUR ShouldnaEUR(tm)t you also think about forgiving, loving, having patience for your husband and for your wife who was yesterday the prince charming or the woman of your dreams who no longer has any value in your eyes today? YouaEUR(tm)re saying, aEURoeHeaEUR(tm)s my enemy.aEUR ArenaEUR(tm)t you someone elseaEUR(tm)s enemy? Our greatest enemy, isnaEUR(tm)t that ourselves? When you remind your husband of things that have happened in the last twenty years, or explain to your friends and colleagues the private life of your relationship or the mistakes of either one of you, arenaEUR(tm)t you destroying the relationship by thinking youaEUR(tm)re hurting your husband or wife? Teeth sometimes bite the tongue, but they remain together. Let us be merciful and slow to anger, rich in kindness and fidelity. Love is patient; it is full of greatness and sacrifice. Should we not be a source of love in order to know the height, depth, length, and width of love? Love is strong as death. Death, life, and environmental difficulties can never overcome immeasurable love. At the point where we have reached, let us walk with the same step, eye to eye, hand in hand, with the same vision. We have a lot more in common than you think. I only have a minute. Sixty seconds in it. Forced upon me, I did not choose it, but I know that I must use it. Give account if I abuse it. Suffer, if I lose it. Only a tiny little minute, But eternity is in it. (Rep. Elijah Cummings) DonaEUR(tm)t ever make decisions based on fear. Make decisions based on hope and possibility. Make decisions based on what should happen, not what shouldnaEUR(tm)t. (Michelle Obama) To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. (Lewis B. Smedes) Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobodyaEUR(tm)s going to know whether you did it or not. (Oprah Winfrey) Blame keeps wounds open. Only forgiveness heals. (Thomas S. Manson)

Based on a wide variety of interviews, printed sources, and Dom André Louf’s spiritual journal, The Way of the Heart narrates Louf’s spiritual journey from his childhood in Flanders through his becoming a monk in a Cistercian monastery, his ten years of retirement as a hermit in a Benedictine monastery in the south of France, and his death. During his career he struggled with conflicting vocational desires—sometimes wishing to serve as a pastor, academic, abbot, or to immerse himself in eremitic contemplation. That struggle is the leading thread through this biography, which portrays a man whose immense gifts pulled him in many directions, while always endeavoring to submit himself to God’s will.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people don't know how to reconcile the spiritual with the reality of where they are psychologically, so their psychological issues are not submitted to the spirit. Thus, followers of Christ are often living with shame, oppression, or even hatred. It should not be this way. The good news is that there is a way to wholeness. Evangelizing the Depths calls us to listen closely to the Word of God as, very practically, Simone Pacot explains how the grace of the Triune God can restore us to life in every facet of our being, even those that have been deeply wounded by events of the past. As the entwining of the spiritual and psychological levels is explored, this book will help establish us in the love and the truth of God. As this happens, it becomes possible to identify the paths of death that we have taken in the past and then leave them behind as we choose to follow Christ along the way of true life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I WAS seventeen. She was called Uranie. Was Uranie, then, a young girl, fair, with blue eyes, innocent, but eager for knowledge? No, she was simply what she has always been, one of the nine muses; she who presided over astronomy, and whose celestial glance animated and directed the spheral choir; she was the heavenly idea hovering above earthly dullness; she had neither the palpitating flesh, nor the heart whose pulsations can be transmitted through space, nor the soft warmth of humanity; but she existed, nevertheless, in a sort of ideal world, superior to humanity, and always pure; and yet she was human enough in name and form to produce in the soul of a youth a vivid and profound impression; to awaken in that soul an undefined and undefinable sentiment of admiration: almost of love.

Book Palliative Care for Chronic Cancer Patients in the Community

Download or read book Palliative Care for Chronic Cancer Patients in the Community written by Michael Silbermann and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-29 with total page 566 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The new global cancer data suggests that the global burden has risen to 18.1 million new cases per year and 9.6 million cancer deaths per year. A number of factors appear to be driving this increase, in particular, a growing and aging global population and an increase of exposure to cancer risk factors linked to social and economic development. For rapidly-growing economies, the data suggests a shift from poverty- or infection-related cancers to those associated with lifestyles more typical in industrialized countries. There is still large geographical diversity in cancer occurrence and variations in the magnitude and profile of the disease between and within world regions. There are specific types of cancer that dominate globally: lung, female breast and colorectal cancer, and the regional variations in common cancer types signal the extent to which societal, economic and lifestyle changes interplay to deferentially impact on the profile of this most complex group of diseases. Unfortunately, despite advances in cancer care, a significant proportion of patients at home, experience sub-optimal outcomes. Barriers to successful treatment outcomes include, but are not limited to: access to oncologists in the primary health centers, non-adherence, lack of experienced oncology and palliative care nurses in the community, inadequate monitoring and the lack of training of family and pediatric physicians. Telemedicine approaches, including telephone triage/education, telemonitoring, teleconsultation and status tracking through mobile applications, have shown promise in further improving outcomes, in particular for chronic cancer patients following their hospitalization. Lessons can be learned from existing hospices in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Centers of Excellence in African (Uganda) and modern community services in India (Kerala). An important goal of this book is to describe and encourage professionals to develop new community programs in palliative care, which include training and empowering physicians and nurses in the community on the principles of palliative care. The Middle East Cancer Consortium (MECC) together with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) have conducted multiple courses ranging from basic palliative care to more specialized training in palliative care for multiple nationalities in Europe, Asia and Africa. Our experience clearly indicates that, to promote such activities, one needs strong leadership and confirmed political will to support the endeavor. The new book will emphasize the importance of having a core of multiple stakeholders including community leaders, government, NGOs and media to be actively involved in advocating for the cause and generating public awareness. This text will provide the reader with a comprehensive understanding of the outside-of-the-hospital treatment of cancer patients by medical, paramedical and volunteer personnel. In doing so, this text will encourage the creation of new palliative care services improving upon the existing ones and stimulate further research in this field. Part 1 of the text will begin with an overview of the current state of affairs of services provided to cancer patients while being cared for by primary health centers. It will also review the current literature regarding medical and psychological-based therapy options in the community for cancer patients at different stages of their disease. Part 2 will address the unique role of the community nurse, within the framework of the multidisciplinary team treating the patient, in the attempt to provide optimal evaluation and care in very challenging situations (such as with terminal patients). Part 3 will provide insightful models of this new discipline and serve as a valuable resource for physicians, nurses, social workers and others involved in the care of cancer patients. The book will take a multidisciplinary approach, integrating clinical and environmental data for practical management to enhance the efficacy of treatment while relieving suffering. Part 4 will also discuss the application of modern technological approaches to track symptoms, quality of life, diet, mobility, duration of sleep and medication use (including pain killers) in chronic cancer patients in the community. Part 5 of the book will also be devoted to modes of developing a collaborative program between governmental and non-governmental organization sectors. This includes volunteer workers in close collaboration with medical professionals for providing emotional and spiritual support, nursing care, nutritional support and empowering family caregivers. Such a model makes palliative care in the community a “people’s movement”, thus transferring part of the responsibility and ownership to the community.

Book Life Interpretation and the Sense of Illness within the Human Condition

Download or read book Life Interpretation and the Sense of Illness within the Human Condition written by Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In medicine the understanding and interpretation of the complex reality of illness currently refers either to an organismic approach that focuses on the physical or to a 'holistic' approach that takes into account the patient's human sociocultural involvement. Yet as the papers of this collection show, the suffering human person refers ultimately to his/her existential sphere. Hence, praxis is supplemented by still other perspectives for valuation and interpretation: ethical, spiritual, and religious. Can medicine ignore these considerations or push them to the side as being subjective and arbitrary? Phenomenology/philosophy-of-life recognizes all of the above approaches to be essential facets of the Human Condition (Tymieniecka). This approach holds that all the facets of the Human Condition have equal objectivity and legitimacy. It completes the accepted medical outlook and points the way toward a new `medical humanism'.

Book American Religion

    Book Details:
  • Author : Mark A. A. Chaves
  • Publisher : Princeton University Press
  • Release : 2017-08-29
  • ISBN : 0691177562
  • Pages : 172 pages

Download or read book American Religion written by Mark A. A. Chaves and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2017-08-29 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most authoritative resource on religious trends in America—now fully updated Most Americans say they believe in God, and more than a third say they attend religious services every week. Yet studies show that people do not really go to church as often as they claim, and it is not always clear what they mean when they tell pollsters they believe in God or pray. American Religion presents the best and most up-to-date information about religious trends in the United States, in a succinct and accessible manner. This sourcebook provides essential information about key developments in American religion since 1972, and is the first major resource of its kind to appear in more than two decades. Mark Chaves looks at trends in diversity, belief, involvement, congregational life, leadership, liberal Protestant decline, and polarization. He draws on two important surveys: the General Social Survey, an ongoing survey of Americans' changing attitudes and behaviors, begun in 1972; and the National Congregations Study, a survey of American religious congregations across the religious spectrum. Chaves finds that American religious life has seen much continuity in recent decades, but also much change. He challenges the popular notion that religion is witnessing a resurgence in the United States—in fact, traditional belief and practice is either stable or declining. Chaves examines why the decline in liberal Protestant denominations has been accompanied by the spread of liberal Protestant attitudes about religious and social tolerance, how confidence in religious institutions has declined more than confidence in secular institutions, and a host of other crucial trends. Now with updated data and a new preface by the author, this revised edition provides essential information about key developments in American religion since 1972, plainly showing that religiosity is declining in America.
