This book was released on 2017-11-23 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Orpheus occupied one of four great seats of learning in ancient Egypt. He brought the Indian Mysteries of Initiation to Greece, nine millennia before Homer and Hesiod. Pythagoras was initiated to the Orphic Mysteries and Plato received a perfect knowledge of them. H.P. Blavatsky explains: 1. How the Orphic Mysteries were disfigured by the exoteric rites of Bacchus. Dionysos is god Dis from Mount Nys in India. Bacchus, crowned with kissos or ivy, is Krishna. Orpheus is orphnos or a tawny-coloured Hindu. 2. And why Initiates were persecuted, tortured, exiled, executed, murdered. Orpheus-Enoch is the possessor of the phorminx, the 7-stringed lyre. He is one of seven Primordial Creators, a branch of the Tree of Salvation grown out of One Seed. He called Nature “resourceful Mother,” and taught the “god-given” doctrine of the seven “Star-Regents” of the Unknown to Grecian philosophers. He also taught how to affect a whole audience by means of a lodestone. He even imparted the art of oömancy.

Download or read book The Heritage of Our Times written by Ernst Bloch and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-03-15 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heritage of Our Times is a brilliant examination of modern culture and its legacy by one of the most important and deeply influential thinkers of the 20th century. Bloch argues that the key elements of a genuine cultural tradition are not just to be found in the conveniently closed and neatly labeled ages of the past, but also in the open and experimental cultural process of our time. One of the most compelling aspects of this work is a contemporary analysis of the rise of Nazism. It probes its bogus roots in German history and mythology at the very moment when the ideologies of Blood and Soil and the Blond Beast were actually taking hold of the German people. The breadth and depth of Bloch's vision, together with the rich diversity of his interest, ensure this work a place as one of the key books of the 20th century.

Download or read book The Stage Works of Philip Glass written by Robert F. Waters and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2022-08-04 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Stage Works of Philip Glass is the first publication to exclusively examine Glass's stage works from 1976 to the present day. Glass, who is regularly acclaimed as the most popular living classical composer, created stage works that have had a mesmerizing effect on younger generations. Robert Waters analyses Glass and his music for the theatre in the context of other composers interested in so-called minimalist features. His discussion includes three introductory chapters that address the validity versus invalidity of terms such as minimalism, post-minimalism, postmodernism, and neo-Romanticism, together with a brief overview of Glass's life and works. Waters examines the different types of theatre responsible for Glass's impact, including Robert Wilson's Theater of Images. He sheds light on Glass's philosophy regarding staging, text, and other theatrical components, which includes a defiance of conventional narrative, visual and aural dissociation as a theatrical technique, and deconstructionist concepts.

Download or read book TITANIC GODS OF TAMIL NADU INDIA written by S. Sugumaran and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Greeks introduced the Titans to the world. Yet, there never was (or is) a temple for the Titanic Gods in Greece. Surprising isn’t it? At the same time, the readers will find more than one temple for most of the Titans in Tamil Nadu. The author takes the readers into a journey of the world of Titans in a strange land. Is not this perplexing? A shocking revelation is the Greek Olympians forming a core of divinity in Tamil Nadu. No explanation is provided for this by the author, though. The genealogy of Gods in Tamil Nadu (evidently drawn from the Greek Texts) provides a solid relationship between the seemingly unrelated Gods In India. Sometimes, a female Greek Goddess is transformed into a male Hindu God. A genealogy of Asuras is also provided to scientifically explain some of the events in the Puranas. This lead the author, a known Euhemerist, to deviate a little from the original texts of Puranas wherever it was necessary. The author, a devout Hindu, firmly believes the Epics and Puranas of Hinduism are very real. A special care has been taken to explain the nature of the birth and worship of Ganesha and Murugan in Tamil Nadu. It is thought the readers are in for a shock or two while reading the stories. And also, a real suspense hangs in the balance regarding the stories of ancient Tamil Sangams, the Sptarishis, the Chera, Chola, Pandiya dynasties of Tamil Nadu. For the author, it was a wonderful experience and a great pleasure to write about the Gods and their age old temples in Tamil Nadu.
