Book excerpt: The Western Mysteries (previously published as The Key of It All, Book II: The Western Mysteries), by David Allen Hulse, is perhaps the most comprehensive, in-depth description of various aspects of the Western magickal tradition ever published. The uniting factor of this book is language. It begins with a discussion of the mysteries of the Greek alphabet, followed by the different forms of the Runes, and goes on to describe the mystical secrets of Latin. It also explores Enochian, where you will discover, for the first time ever, the correctly constructed Watchtower system. The book also includes the mysteries of the Tarot, a pictorial language, and it describes the development of the esoteric Tarot, how to do readings, and the significance of the symbolism on the Tarot cards. It concludes with the English language and its relationship to the Tarot, Enochian, and more. The introduction to The Western Mysteries serves as a complete introduction to the magickal tradition of the West. You will learn about the evolution of thought concerning the Elements, astrology, magick squares, geomancy, words of power, and more. You will find that each section of this book is a key that unlocks the meaning behind another of the magickal languages that you can relate to your own spiritual system. It is ideal for a beginning student to explore the mysteries of Western magick. It is a necessary tool for more advanced students, as it has collected hundreds of charts and lists which clarify and identify the similarities and differences between various systems. This is a reference book you will study over and over. The volume of information revealed makes The Western Mysteries an instant classic and a necessity for any spiritual practitioner.

Download or read book Two Issues in Public Key Cryptography written by Ben-Zion Chor and published by MIT Press (MA). This book was released on 1986 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores public key cryptographic systems, first investigating the question of cryptographic security of bits in the RSA encryption and then constructing a new knapsack type public key cryptosystem, based on arithmetic in finite fields. In Part I, two problems involving the RSA encryption of a message are proved to be equivalent. This equivalence implies that an adversary, given the ciphertext, can't do better than guessing unless s/he can break the RSA code. The results generated by the author's proof indicate that Rabin/RSA encryption can be directly used for pseudo random bit generation. A new knapsack type public key cryptosystem is introduced in Part II, along with a detailed description of its implementation. The system is based on a novel application of arithmetic in finite fields, following a construction by Bose and Chowla. By choosing appropriate parameters, the density of the resulting knapsack can be controlled. In particular, the density can be made high enough to foil low-density attacks against this new system. At present there are no known attacks capable of breaking the system in a reasonable amount of time. Ben-Zion Chor received his doctorate from MIT where he is currently a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Computer Science Laboratory. Two Issues in Public Key Cryptography: RSA Bit Security and a New Knapsack Type Systemis a 1985 ACM Distinguished Dissertation.

Download or read book Two Lenses on the Korean Ethos written by Keumsil Kim Yoon and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2015-01-24 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A war-torn country only 60 years ago, South Korea has since achieved prodigious growth and global integration, experiencing rapid industrialization and seeing its cultural exports gain international popularity. Because of this rapid transformation, an investigation of the Korean ethos--the shared self-concept woven through the divergent social contexts of both South and North Korea--is challenging. This book provides an introduction to the Korean ethos, detailing its representation in key cultural words and in film. Part I explores definitive concepts (terms) generally regarded as difficult to translate, such as han (regret), jeong (feeling) and deok (virtue), and how they are expressed in Korean cinema. Part II analyzes film narratives based on these concepts via close readings of 13 films, including three from North Korea.
