Such means are enabled by concerned lay folk who have worked together to learn and express concern for the prostitute. This is a guidebook or manual for such folk. All the world's communities are different, and all the prostitutes are uniquely different, but all can benefit from "Out Of The Web."

A quick trip.” “But you can’t fly.” “Darling, I am your mother,” she said, and gave him one last kiss. On a cold winter’s eve, deep in the woods, a mother shrew frets about her sick young son. His head is cold and his feet are hot, and there is only one thing that can cure him: wild honey from the moon. Mother Shrew does not stop to wonder how she will make such an impossible journey. Instead, she grabs her trusty red umbrella, gives her darling son a kiss, and sets out into the unknown. Along the way, Mother Shrew encounters one obstacle after another, from a malevolent owl to a herd of restless “night mares” to an island humming with angry bees. But each can prove no match for a mother on a mission. From the mind of the uniquely talented Kenneth Kraegel comes an utterly original ode to the limitlessness of maternal love.

Download or read book Act Your Age written by Kenneth Harris and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-05-06 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Act Your Age! A command in these or similar words was heard by most of us soon after we learned to walk and often heard repeated as we trekked our way through childhood. As adulthood arrived perhaps you, like the author, have occasionally heard again that early exhortation ringing softly in your ears, "Now, don't forget to act your age." The author presents stories from his life as a suburban Oklahoma boy, time-study engineer, financial analyst, safety engineer, police officer, father of four, grandfather of fourteen and pastor that provide an intimate, candid, lively and imaginative chronology from his youth up to the present day of his retirement in the panhandle of northern Idaho. Emotions run the gamut from the deep sadness and vacuum of tragic loss to the joyful and raucous laughter found only in families. Occasionally rational explanation eludes all efforts and he is forced to fall back on divine intervention. Many were the opportunities that seemed to say Act Your Age! In some he did. In some he didn't. You be the judge.

Download or read book While I Was Sleeping written by Mary Ellen Smith and published by Author House. This book was released on 2012-01-10 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I find it ironic that the types of books I like to read and movies I like to watch are about people who have been faced with less than favorable odds and yet were able to beat those odds. Little did I know that my life was about to become one of these stories. On March 5, 2010, I was admitted to the hospital with influenza A, pneumonia that quickly went into Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. I was given less than one percent chance of survival. At first I wasnt too keen on the idea of writing about my illness. I wondered if I really wanted to go back and recount, or continue to remember, this nightmare. Would writing about it maybe help me down the road? Would this be what I needed to do in order to heal emotionally? A nurse in my neurologists office encouraged me to write my story because she said there never has been a book written about someone with Multiple Sclerosis who had gone through what I did and not have a fl are up from this disease, let alone survive. So she gave me the incentive to tell my story in hopes that it would help others. I also thought about other families who might go through similar situations and who could get encouragement from my experience. Above all, I wanted to express my thanks to my husband, my children, and my friends and to my God for the help and encouragement they provided during my illness and my road to recovery. I hope this encourages you as well.
Download or read book How to Pray When You re Pissed at God written by Ian Punnett and published by Harmony. This book was released on 2013-04-30 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When things really go wrong, what do you do with the feeling that God is to blame? A popular Coast to Coast radio host (and Episcopal clergy) provides some answers. In a first of its kind book, Ian Punnett provides a spiritual path for expressing your rawest emotions through prayer and how to rebuild a relationship with one's higher power--or anybody else in your life. In this important and practical book, Ian Punnett provides insight on feeling anger and resentment toward God and offers advice on how to deal with the pain and blame that accompanies these emotions. In a book that is edgy, timely, funny and compassionate, Punnett presents real help in everyday language for transforming the negativity of anger into a positive and useful force that will ultimately help us pray more effectively, bring us closer to God, enhance our spiritual relationship, and change the way we live and love others. After a divorce, a broken friendship, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job or even the accumulation of all the tiny cracks in our spirit from life's disappointments, it’s easy to feel pissed at God. When anger is left unchecked, it is harmful to our minds, bodies and souls. “How to Pray When You’re Pissed at God is not “the last word” on angry prayer,” Punnett writes, “but it might be the first words you have ever heard on the topic. By the end of the book, it is my hope that you’ll understand the role of anger in our lives, the benefit of honest prayer, and the need for honest, angry prayer in the lives of the faithful and faithless.”
