Download or read book Gifted written by Cassondra Robinson and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2019-12-10 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In order to overcome rejection even though one may be gifted, it is important to understand who God is and the purpose He created for each of us as an individual. Being gifted relates to being exceptional, proficient, skillful, and talented. It may even classify an individual as an expert or a professional. Oftentimes, it is problematic to understand why there is conflict in our lives. We must contend with good and evil. As a Christian, we are conscientious that we have a God who created us with expectations. We must make an effort to work on our spiritual lives and to live peaceably with all men. A life of discipline is a result of accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Discipline progresses through intimacy with God. Some distinctive ways to obtain confidence about God is the development of a life of prayer, a life of praise and worship, and a life of wisdom. Even though we have a history or a past of being wounded and bewildered, we should love difficult or ungodly people in spite of wanting acceptance. Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52), we also will have wisdom and favor. However, God will grant us favor, and with the right connections, we will have favor with man. Rejection can be a camouflaged blessing. As an individual develops a relationship with our Creator and understands His purpose and plan for our lives, life is rewarding and fulfilling. It is easy to embrace laughter and easier to commune with God without frustration with ourselves and others.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chuck Shaw is a vanishing breed--an old-style veterinarian with a quarter of a century of experience who runs a "mixed practice" in rural New Hampshire, treating everything from house cats to milk cows. Week after demanding week, he and his associate, horse expert Roger Osinchuk, make house calls and farm calls, and spend sleepless nights on call, to see to the well-being of patients whose only common denominator is an inability to speak. But the practice is booming, and Chuck decides to take on a third associate, Erika Bruner, fresh out of veterinary school. Whynott follows these three practitioners into the world of contemporary veterinary medicine, as a witness to memorable encounters and daily dilemmas. He watches as they play gynecologist to cows and horses, obstetrician to calves and colts, podiatrist to creatures whose feet are life and death to them. He captures the struggle to learn a difficult craft on the job, describes the confluence of skill and intuition that is the essence of diagnosis, and depicts the ongoing effort to balance the needs and desires of animals and owners without compromising his creed. A Country Practice is a vivid portrait of the rapidly changing face of an ancient profession.

When it comes to marriage, third time's the charm for Linny Taylor. She's thrilled to be on her honeymoon with Jack Avery, Willow Hill's handsome veterinarian. Who knew women “of a certain age” could drum up so much trouble? No sooner is Linny sighing with relief at being back home than she's helping her frazzled sister with a new baby . . . and dealing with an unexpected legacy from her late ex. Life is fuller—and richer—than she ever imagined, but if there's one thing Linny's learned by now, it's that there's always room for another sweet surprise . . . • Release : 2006-05-08
  • ISBN : 0801883547
  • Pages : 548 pages

Download or read book Cerebral Palsy written by Freeman Miller and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2006-05-08 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When a child has a health problem, parents want answers. But when a child has cerebral palsy, the answers don't come quickly. A diagnosis of this complex group of chronic conditions affecting movement and coordination is difficult to make and is typically delayed until the child is eighteen months old. Although the condition may be mild or severe, even general predictions about long-term prognosis seldom come before the child's second birthday. Written by a team of experts associated with the Cerebral Palsy Program at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, this authoritative resource provides parents and families with vital information that can help them cope with uncertainty. Thoroughly updated and revised to incorporate the latest medical advances, the second edition is a comprehensive guide to cerebral palsy. The book is organized into three parts. In the first, the authors describe specific patterns of involvement (hemiplegia, diplegia, quadriplegia), explain the medical and psychosocial implications of these conditions, and tell parents how to be effective advocates for their child. In the second part, the authors provide a wealth of practical advice about caregiving from nutrition to mobility. Part three features an extensive alphabetically arranged encyclopedia that defines and describes medical terms and diagnoses, medical and surgical procedures, and orthopedic and other assistive devices. Also included are lists of resources and recommended reading.
