Book excerpt: Sufism is a religion which emphasizes direct knowledge of the divine within each person, and meditation, music, song, and dance are seen as crucial spiritual strides toward attaining unity with God. Sufi paths of mysticism and devotion, motivated by Islamic ideals, are still chosen by men and women in countries from Morocco to China, and there are nearly one hundred orders around the world, eighty of which are present and thriving in the United States. The Chishti Sufi order has been the most widespread and popular of all Sufi traditions since the twelfth-century. Sufi Martyrs of Love offers a critical perspective on Western attitudes towards Islam and Sufism, clarifying its contemporary importance, both in the West and in traditional Sufi homelands. Finally, it provides access to the voices of Sufi authorities, through the translation of texts being offered in English for the first time.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pand-nama (Book of Wisdom) Selections Farid al-din 'Attar Translation & Introduction Paul Smith Farid al-din 'Attar is one of the most famous spiritual poets of Persia. His works were the inspiration of Rumi and many other mystical poets. 'Attar, along with Sana'i were two of the greatest influences on Rumi in his Sufi views. Rumi has mentioned both of them with the highest esteem several times in his poetry. Rumi praises 'Attar as follows: "Attar roamed the seven cities of love... we are still just in one alley." 'Attar reached an age of well over 80 and died a violent death in the massacre which the Mongols inflicted on Nishapour in April 1221. The world depicted in 'Attar's works reflects the whole evolution of the Sufi movement. The starting point is the idea that the body-bound soul's awaited release and return to its source in the other world can be experienced during the present life in mystic union attainable through inward purification. In explaining his thoughts, 'Attar uses material not only from specifically Sufi sources but also from older ascetic legacies. Apart from his two famous epic masnavi poems 'The Conference of the Birds' and 'The Book of God' he composed a Divan full of powerful, enlightened ghazals and ruba'is. The Pand-nama is a small book of wise, moral advice in short poems in rhyming couplets that is practical and spiritual... over 135 here translated.. Introduction on his Life & Times & his Books & Selections from many of them. The correct rhyme has been kept in all translations. Selected Bibliography. Ali Akbar Shapurzman, translator of many mystical works in English into Persian and knower of Hafiz's Divan off by heart. Paul Smith (b.1945) is a poet, author and translator of many books of Sufi poets from the Persian, Arabic, Urdu, Turkish, Pashtu and other languages including Hafiz, Sadi, Nizami, Rumi, 'Attar, Sana'i, Jahan Khatun, Obeyd Zakani, Nesimi, Kabir, Anvari, Ansari, Jami, Khayyam, Iqbal, Rudaki, Yunus Emre, Ghalib, and many others, as well as his own poetry, fiction, plays, biographies and a dozen screenplays. www.newhumanitybooks.com

Book excerpt: In this book the Promised Messiah, on whom be peace, discusses the philosophy of divine revelation, the three categories of people who claim to receive revelation, and the distinction of the truthful from the false. He then establishes his truthfulness by documenting over 200 Signs, including the fulfillment of prophecies made by the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, other men of God, earlier scriptures, and his own revelations spanning over twenty-five years. The author cites numerous examples of his enemies who publicly predicted his downfall and demise, only to become the very victims of their own prophecies. God, however, protected him against every assault, while continuously reassuring him of His promise to bless his Community—a promise which continues to bear the seal and testimony of history. The author also appeals to the followers of different faiths to read this book cover to cover to appreciate and accept this evidence as proof that God is One and the Holy Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and that he is the Promised Messiah raised to unite humanity under the banner of Islam.

Book How Muhammad Stole the Judeo Christian Tradition

Download or read book How Muhammad Stole the Judeo Christian Tradition written by Michael Muluk and published by . This book was released on 2018-05-27 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam--the three Abrahamic religions. Everybody agrees that these three world religions share a common root. Even Jews, Christians, and Muslims themselves seem to confirm that their faiths share the same traditions, protagonists, and most importantly, a common monotheistic core. Even King Abdullah of Jordan said in an interview with CNN that he believed in Jesus Christ as the Messiah and His Holy Virgin Mother. If we believe in people like King Abdullah, Islam shouldn't be very much different to the Judeo-Christian Tradition. But why do we have to deal with the reality that Islam has been at war with the Jews and the Christians for the last 1400 years? Why do most Muslim countries persecute their Christian minorities? Why do we see a global resurgence of the spirit of Jihad? Why do even Muslims in moderate Muslim majority countries such as Indonesia call for the reestablishment of the Islamic Caliphate and the death of Jews and Christians? Are we missing something? Here's a crazy thought: What if Islam is actually not an Abrahamic religion at all? What if Islam has nothing to do with its Judeo-Christian predecessors, and all of its ties to Abraham and the God of the Bible are just lies made up by Muhammad? Dr. Michael Muluk had the same questions. Born Fatih Hamza al-Muluk, the author of this book is an Ex-Muslim turned Evangelical Christian, who has studied and lived Islam for most of his life. Being a combat veteran and a security consultant, he had the chance to intimately know both moderate Muslims and also Caliphate supporters in Europe, the Middle-East, Africa, and South-East Asia. His answers on Islam, leaving Islam, and terrorism on the popular Q&A platform Quora have been read more than one million times, and he is currently doing consultancy work for several governments in their fight against terrorism. Be aware that this book is not a scholarly research paper written from the safety of a university's library by secular scholars who have never even met a radical Muslim in their lives. This is a book written by a man who has seen and lived the good, the bad, and the ugly of his faith. A man who decided that it was worth to leave Islam, even risking his own life and that of his family in the process. Islam will become the religion with the most followers by the year 2060. What does that mean for our children? How will Islam affect their lives? If you love the fruits of the Judeo-Christian Tradition--freedom, solidarity, human rights, and democracy--you just can't afford to stay ignorant of what Islam truly represents. So, let's take a look at how Muhammad stole the Judeo-Christian Tradition.
