The book considers the sinfulness of mankind from his fall through the coming of the Savior, noting that sin is not the exclusive reserve of any particular people but of the whole of mankind. And the salvation that the gracious, almighty God offers through Jesus Christ alone is also to not just a few, but all who believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is Prophet, Priest, and King. He is also Savior/Redeemer and Judge. He is Creator of the universe and the Mediator between God and man. There were prophets, but Jesus is the Son of God. There were priests and high priests who had to enter God's presence in the holiest place with blood of an animal in their hands. But Jesus Christ is the Everlasting High Priest, who entered the presence of God with His own unblemished blood once for all and remains with God the Father in heaven, pleading our cause. There were/are kings also. But Jesus Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. There were, and are, judges. But Jesus Christ is the Righteous Judge that will on behalf of God the Father judge the living and the dead without favoritism or sentiments. He alone is the Savior and Redeemer of mankind. Jesus Christ shall soon return to set up his millennial kingdom on earth.

Download or read book Jesus Christ written by Daniel Ukadike Nwaelene Thd and published by . This book was released on 2024-02-02 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most published books about Jesus detail His roles as a prophet, priest, and king. He fulfilled these roles when He sacrificed Himself and entered the presence of God the Father. The world has been so morally and spiritually bankrupt and dead that the need for a Savior cannot be emphasized enough. Thanks be to God that He gave us Jesus Christ! As King over all the earth, he will have judicial powers and responsibilities over the subjects in the forthcoming Millennial Kingdom. He will judge all nations of the world for their beliefs and ways of life during the Great Tribulation. He will sentence the condemned to everlasting punishment and welcome his sheep to His kingdom. Therefore, it becomes pertinent that we make this book prominent. The role of Jesus Christ is not only as savior and king but also as judge.

Download or read book Gentle and Lowly written by Dane C. Ortlund and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-03-18 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot—and rightly so—on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. The gospel flows from God’s deepest heart for his people, a heart of tender love for the sinful and suffering. These chapters take readers into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.

Download or read book He Gave Them Judges written by Luke Walker and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-05-18 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seven elite warriors, seven foreshadows of Christ... Judges is action-packed, and among the most exciting books of the Bible to read. And yet, for all the well known characters and stories, much of its rich Christological nature is missed. But Christ is here, lurking in the shadows. This book takes up seven of the judges and explores their nature as types and shadows of the Lord Jesus Christ and his saving work. Endorsement from Dr. Richard Barcellos: "My friend Luke Walker has written a wonderful book for pastors and the people they lead, as well as for unbelievers. The subtitle, Jesus in the Book of Judges, tips readers as to the direction of the discussion. Walker finds aspects of our Lord's person and work prefigured in the persons and actions of the Judges, and I think he is right to do so. One of the many treats of this book is the vignettes into the hermeneutical method utilized throughout. Viewing the Old Testament as God preparing the world for the incarnation, sufferings, and glory of the Son of God, this book helps readers understand not only that God prepared the world for Christ but how. Historical figures and their acts often point beyond them to a much greater figure and his much greater acts. The historical figures and some of their acts pointing to the future find their terminus or target in our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is the bull's eye of Holy Scripture, everything in it pointing to Him (the OT) or explaining the fact that He has come (the NT). The end of the biblical narrative is much better than its beginning and middle, but the end is hinted at all along the way in persons, places, institutions, and events. I highly recommend 'He Gave Them Judges.'" Richard C. Barcellos, Ph.D. Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Palmdale, CA Author of "Better than the Beginning: Creation in Biblical Perspective"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With a surprising number of people professing a belief that we are living in the Biblical End Times, this lively 1902 deconstruction of the Book of Revelation is even more relevant than ever. Analyzing the final chapters of the Bible on a verse-by-verse basis-and finding much to be contentious about, particularly when it comes to other interpretations of the book-Bullinger reveals a powerful, devotional way to approach Revelation. British clergyman ETHELBERT WILLIAM BULLINGER (1837-1913) was one of the most respected Bible scholars of the 19th century. He is author of numerous works including Great Cloud of Witnesses and How to Enjoy the Bible.
Download or read book God s Glory in Salvation through Judgment written by James M. Hamilton Jr. and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2010-11-04 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Exodus 34 Moses asks to see God's glory, and God reveals himself as a God who is merciful and just. James Hamilton Jr. contends that from this passage comes a biblical theology that unites the meta-narrative of Scripture under one central theme: God's glory in salvation through judgment. Hamilton begins in the Old Testament by showing that Israel was saved through God's judgment on the Egyptians and the Caananites. God was glorified through both his judgment and mercy, accorded in salvation to Israel. The New Testament unfolds the ultimate display of God's glory in justice and mercy, as it was God's righteous judgment shown on the cross that brought us salvation. God's glory in salvation through judgment will be shown at the end of time, when Christ returns to judge his enemies and save all who have called on his name. Hamilton moves through the Bible book by book, showing that there is one theological center to the whole Bible. The volume's systematic method and scope make it a unique resource for pastors, professors, and students.
